I started practicing yoga twelve years ago at Appalachian State University and was immediately hooked on the confidence and peace of mind a regular yoga practice can bring.
I am currently training in herbal medicine with Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine and received my RYT200 Yoga Certification in July 2021 with Zin Yoga Studio. My hope is that those who attend my classes leave feeling more grounded, empowered, and present.
Being a plus size teacher, I encourage all body shapes & sizes to join my classes and see the beauty and strength in each unique student. Depending on the season and the needs of the students, my classes range from powerful flows to gentle grounding sequences, however there is always time for pranayama and meditation. Yoga can do wonders for your mind and body.
Please join me for a nourishing class to warm, ground, and strengthen our bodies. Occasionally I like to bring in herbs and flowers for meditations or send my students home with a nourishing tea.

I first found yoga while living in Colorado in 2001. It wasn’t until I had 3 small kids at home that I studied deeper into the sensory and somatic benefits of a regular practice. I graduated with 200 hours in 2016 registering through Tittibha Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, studying under Nancy Gilbert E-RYT, RPYT.
I have furthered studies through assorted Continuing Education opportunities, one standing out in 2017 as a completion of a 50 hour Mastery Program under Carol Krucoff, C-IAYT, E-RYT and Kimberly Carson, MPH, C-IAYT, E-RYT offered at the facility of Duke Integrative Medicine. This training provided experience for teaching to vulnerable populations and hands-on safely modifying postures, and leading those who are new to yoga.
Currently I study under Jennie Wise, E-RYT 500, Yogologist, Master of Health Science (MHS), and CEO of WiseMind Yoga. Acting as Mentor through YTT 300 Soul Warrior program.
All experiences of which I’m grateful, and bud further into the development of E-RYT Mindful Motion that I’ve used to serve my family and our community.

This class is designed for beginners but beneficial for any practitioner of yoga. We will work on a sequence of poses each week; the modifications, advancements, alignment and transitions for your unique anatomy. This class will also include the history and breakdown of why you are doing what you are doing in each pose.
