Helping golfers move better, play without pain, and enjoy a lifetime of golf

Not every golf problem is a body problem.

And not every golf problem is a swing problem.

That’s the point.

If you’ve been fighting the same issue over and over, the first step isn’t necessarily another drill, stretch, or swing thought.

It’s figuring out what’s actually contributing to it.

Sometimes that’s the swing.
Sometimes it’s mobility.
Sometimes it’s strength or power.

And sometimes it’s a combination.

Get the right answer first.

Then build the plan.

There’s no shortage of golf information.

Swing tips. Mobility drills. Speed training. YouTube videos.

The harder part is knowing which one actually applies to you.

If you don’t know what’s causing the problem, every solution is another guess.

Get clarity first.

Then build the plan.

He didn’t come in asking for better hip and shoulder mobility.

He wanted to hit his driver more consistently.

His coach has been working with him on getting his lower body more involved in the swing and better upper body release.

So before adding another drill or swing thought, I wanted to answer a pretty simple question:

Can his body actually do what they’re asking it to do?

During the assessment, 2 things stood out: his hip internal rotation and lead shoulder rotation were very limited.

Does that mean we found the one reason for every bad drive?

Of course not.

But now we have another important piece of the puzzle.

And more importantly, we have something specific we can work on instead of guessing.

That’s the whole point of the assessment.

Figure out what your body can do.
Figure out what it can’t.

Then build the plan from there.

Assess. Don’t Guess.

If you’ve been working on your swing but feel like your body may be getting in the way, DM me “ASSESS.”

Golf has a way of exposing whatever you didn’t prepare for.

Sometimes it’s your swing.
Sometimes it’s your mindset.
Sometimes it’s your body.

The golfers who continue playing well year after year aren’t always the most talented.

They’re usually the ones who keep investing in the one piece of equipment they can’t replace.

Their body.

Here’s to another week of moving better, swinging freer, and enjoying the game a little more.

My approach to training has changed a lot over the years.

There was a time when I judged a workout by how exhausted I was when it was over.

Now I judge it by a different question:

Will this help me play better golf?

That’s why my training includes mobility, strength, power, and recovery.

Not because I’m trying to lift the most weight.
Not because I’m trying to look a certain way.

Because I want to keep competing. Keep swinging fast. And keep enjoying the game for years to come.

I think that’s a mindset a lot of golfers can benefit from.

Train for the golfer you want to be five... ten... even twenty years from now.

Because the goal isn’t just to play more golf.
It’s to keep playing well.

A golfer told me this week:

“I figured this was just part of getting older.”

Maybe.
Maybe not.

The truth is, a lot of golfers assume pain, stiffness, or lost distance is simply something they have to accept.

Sometimes it is.

A lot of times, it isn’t.

The only way to know is to stop assuming and start measuring.

That’s where every good plan begins.

If I wanted more distance after 50...

I’d stop chasing random swing tips.

I’d stop stretching without knowing what actually needs to improve.

And I’d definitely stop assuming it’s “just my age.”

The best golfers I work with don’t guess.

They measure.

Because once you know what’s limiting your swing, your training becomes a whole lot more effective.

Save this for the next time you’re tempted to search for another quick fix.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is golfers trying harder when they start losing distance.

Swing harder.
Practice more.
Buy a new driver.

Sometimes the problem isn’t effort.

Sometimes the body simply isn’t producing or transferring force the way it used to.

Trying harder doesn’t fix that.

Understanding why you’ve lost distance is where the real progress starts.

He came in wanting more distance.

Like a lot of golfers, his first instinct was to think he needed a different swing.

But before we changed anything, I wanted to answer one question:

Can his body actually create the movement needed for more speed?

That’s why every assessment starts with your goal and not a checklist.

Once we identify what’s limiting your movement, we can build a plan that actually makes sense.

Because the fastest way to waste time is training the wrong thing.

Assess. Don’t Guess.

Winning a club championship takes more than having a good swing for one weekend.

It takes years of work, consistent preparation and a willingness to keep improving even after you have already proven you can win.

That means working on the entire athlete:

Mobility to access the positions the swing requires.
Strength to create a more durable and powerful foundation.
Sequencing work to help transfer that physical ability into the golf swing.

And just as importantly, having the right team around you.

Her golf coach Patrick Chamberlain continues to develop the swing.

My role is to help make sure her body can support what they are trying to accomplish.

That is how high-level golfers approach performance.

They do not wait until something hurts or their game starts slipping.

They assess, prepare and keep putting in the work.
