John's Bowling Eagles

It has been a while since Georgetown High School was able to support a girls' bowling team. Finally, this season we had 5 teammates the entire time and not only placed in the district but also at the regional event earning a berth in the Texas High School State Championship tournament held in San Antonio at Bandera Bowl. The girls bowled over their team average for the season (great job) and barely missed the cut to the final tournament bracket (good but still disappointing). Congratulations, GHS Lady Eagles!!

Last week of the season for the girl's team but the boys move on to Regional competition next weekend!

The Eagles were in Killeen to bowl the Regional tournament today. The top 2 teams advanced to the high school state tournament and the home teams took advantage. GHS got 3rd place but with 4 returning starters for next season we are already looking forward to getting there again in 2022-2023. Thanks for everyone's support!

Hi, supporters of the GHS Bowling team! We qualified to advance to the Regional tournament this coming weekend in Killeen. The coach's meeting is 8:15 AM Sunday morning, March 6th. The competition begins with introductions at 8:45 am.

Bowlers, please be at Hallmark Lanes by 8:15 am so that all athletes have arrived before we go into the meeting. Our march to the State finals continues! :-)

We walked into the center early Saturday morning hopeful that we could get into the playoffs. We ended the morning qualifying as the top scoring team! About 6 hours later we did our best to go from the round of 10 to the round of 5 but came up about 25 pins short of advancing. We have to say that in spite of the covid season of bowling with fewer practices and a shorter season, we did GREAT! 6th place in the state of Texas is pretty durn good. It's pretty obvious in the two pictures of the team that my camera/phone isn't great in low light but the team is just as pretty anyway! You get the pics because this was our final team event of the 20-21 season :-)

Well, it has been a year of "special." With the covid virus still quite prevalent but vaccines being distributed we started the high school state championship tournament with high hopes this morning. Today continued our "special." While some of the team struggled a bit some of the team made up for it. We are into the 1st round of the playoffs at the Texas High School Bowling State Championships! The top 10 teams will bowl about 4:30 this afternoon! :-)

How about having our first get together this coming Friday, December 11th, about 4:00 or 4:15?

I'm planning to have our 1st meeting very soon. Unfortunately, I've been in quarantine from a covid exposure. I have not had symptoms and feel just fine but I have to complete the isolation time before returning to The LAB. I will reach out again next week with details on our 1st meeting. Go Eagles!!
