Happy Friday, and TGIF, all! We are certainly ready to enjoy the weekend. It's that time of the week again when we share our Weekly Wins and showcase some of the projects we worked on this week.
First, a long time customer sent us a pair of grips that had been poorly powder coated and frankly didn't go with the theme of his pistol. So we fixed them right up and cerakoted them in Burnt Bronze. Cerakote not only protects the finish of the parts it's applied to, but also customizes them to go with the individual's specific theme. We can't wait to see the finished product!
Second, we had a customer drop off his sh***un for cerakote work. While the before looked ok, sometimes appearances can be tricky and fool us into thinking everything is fine. Under the factory coating, there was a lot of hidden rust and other imperfections that could, over time, interfere with the operation of the fi***rm. So, we stripped it down and recoated it with the iconic Graphite Black, leaving it to appear almost factory original.
Third (Trigger Alert), we had the privilege of providing custom laser engraving on two AR15 lower receivers. Before we do any markings on a fi***rm, we always do test proofs on cheap metal cards that we got through Amazon. While doing one of the engravings, we learned the reason why the customer chose to display a Reichsadler (German Imperial Eagle) with an Iron Cross. We learned the customer's Grandfather served in the German Army during WW2 and was actually awarded the Iron Cross during his Service. While he was on the opposing side, that does not negate the fact that he served honorably for his country. As there are not too many WW2 veterans still with us, the customer chose to incorporate it into his fi***rm to preserve his family's heritage. So no, we aren't over here advocating for swastikas!
If interested in one of our services, feel free to reach out, and we can explain it in further detail or give a free estimate.
