Happy monday everyone! I have some thoughts I’d like to share!🌀🧘🏻♀️💜
Yoga is not inherently about self-improvement; it's about self-acceptance. It’s also not necessarily about building muscle, or flexibility. Those are both great goals to have in mind on your yoga journey. However, yoga is the practice of learning to meet yourself exactly as you are.
In practicing yoga, we create space to quiet the mind through the asanas, the physical practice. In doing so, we uncover the meaning behind our thoughts and emotions and through this, we learn that we are not truly our thoughts or emotions. We are the awareness behind them.
You may find through connecting with your breath that suddenly, you are fully and completely engaged with the present moment. In today’s world of social media, distractions, and business; I believe that finding the time to connect with your breath, yourself, and the present moment is one of the most powerful ways to reconnect with life itself. We spend so much time worrying about the next phase of life, or maybe even how we’ll make it through this next week. But learning to breathe, to find peace in the now, learning more about ourselves, and meeting ourselves exactly as we are without fear, judgment, or doubt has more power than many of us, including myself realize.
Take this as your sign to find a quiet moment to yourself to reconnect with your breath. Breathe deeply in through your nose. Notice how this makes you feel and as you exhale, release any tension, worry, or stress. Repeat this as many times as you need to until you feel a sense of calm wash over you. Let your thoughts pass by without judgment or engagement and simply notice the feelings in your body and the present moment before you.
I believe in you, you are a magnificent human being navigating through life just like the rest of us. Thank you for being here!💜🌀🧘🏻♀️😊
