Hey everyone, just wanted to reach out and provide everyone out there with an update on something that I’ve been working on in the background.
Since 2021 myself and a team of 3 friends within the Mountain BIking/Frederick Community have been working with the City to establish a PUBLIC Paved Pump Track right here in Frederick.
Of course I am beyond stoked to be a part of the team making this happen. Community development and enrichment has always been a driving force behind my actions in life and I can’t express enough about how much of an impact this will have on our community, the surrounding area and the DMV as a whole.
Moving forward, we applied for and secured $150,000 through a State Highway Administration grant.
However in order to satisfy grant requirements we need to raise an additional $41,250 in matching funds to be used towards the park's redevelopment. These funds will also go towards the track as well as the development of a:
- Pavilion
- Bike repair stand
- Tool lock box
- Two benches.
SO although we’ve secured the overall grant the project won’t move forward until we satisfy all the components.
Grant guidelines call for community support to warrant their investment - please help us send that message by donating - ***and If your employer offers any gift matching opportunities please consider applying those resources to this project***
Attached to this post is a flyer, we also ask that you download and share the flyer with your networks, print it off and put it up at work, take it to your local bike shop, coffee shop, rec center, bar, restaurant and see if they are willing to post it.
