Week 1 of Year 15 teaching 4th grade is officially in the books! At the end of the week I surprised my kiddos with some custom-made cookies of our school mascot 😸
When you think of custom cookies, you might not think of all the behind the scenes steps that take place before I can even bake.
For this set, I used an image of the cougar head and dropped it into some editing software. I traced the edge and then added an offset outline. I grabbed a screenshot of the cougar with the outline and dropped that into an online cookie cutter software, adjusted the size, then downloaded the stl and sliced it in a 3d printing software. I saved that file to an sd card and printed the cookie cutter.
Once I had cookies baked I uploaded my outline cougar into Canva, adjusted the size to match the cookie cutter, and then grabbed the original cougar face and made it match the size of the outlined face. After downloading both of those images separately, I printed the outline version on the tray of my edible printer so that I could properly line up each cookie so that the cougar would print correctly onto my iced cookie.
I iced all my cookies, and then 1 by 1 lined them up and printed. I think they turned out adorable, and my students were happily surprised before going home on Friday afternoon ❤️
