*New class alert!!* Check out this dynamic flow class, designed to energetically awaken body, mind and creative spirit ✨🧘🧠

Creative Flow is a balanced, breath-centered, Hatha-style class. This practice weaves together intentional movement, guided breath work, and mindful awareness to help you energize through flow state- cultivating strength, flexibility, resilience and inner clarity.

In many ways this will feel like your favorite flow practice with Emily, but this class will extend an opportunity to reflect and integrate creative flow for a few minutes following the restful integration of body, mind and spirit during savasana. Just like anything in your practice, this creative flow is optional, however we know that movement and alignment of the physical body and breath, can often help us align more freely to outward expression of what we are processing inwardly through heart and mind. A prompt for reflection will be offered in the final minutes of class, and you are welcome to reflect inwardly, carrying that opportunity for creative flow off your mat and into your evening, OR you are invited to bring a journal or sketch pad and linger on your mat after class (maybe with a cup of tea) and allow those creative juices to express themselves on to the page in a way that resonates for you- through writing, mind mapping, doodling, breath drawing, or something else. You could also use this time to soak up 5-10 minutes of bonus savasana, meditation or gentle self-led movement in quiet reflection.

This is a practice to move flow state into outward expression of your inner most self. You get to choose what that looks like. If that doesn’t resonate, you are also welcome to join for the benefit of the 60 minute flow practice, carrying this practice in all its many expressions off the mat, flowing into your evening your way 🫶 All are welcome.

A variety of expressions and progressions of poses are offered to support every body.

Roots to Rise reading and reflection group is BACK this Sunday @ 11:30 am, and monthly through the fall. With the intention of bringing a layer of awareness and accessibility to the roots of these ancient practices as well as reflection and discussion around their current application.

Curious about other ways you might connect more deeply with your practice and/or our community in the context of a welcoming and nurturing environment? Join us for our monthly gathering of Roots to Rise reading and reflection group. No need to read anything in advance, or bring with you any prior knowledge or experience- and there is no homework! (unless you choose to dive deeper on your own 😄

We will listen to a short reading, share a brief guided meditation and reflection and then have some time for discussion. Whether you are completely new to yoga philosophy or consider yourself an expert- you are welcome. We all have something to learn from each other. We will listen, reflect and discuss an element of yogic philosophy and how it might be applied to our modern, interconnected lives. It is our intention for these topics and readings to evolve over time, informed by your interests and lived experiences. Tea and coffee will be offered and participants are welcome (but not required) to bring a snack to share.

These gatherings are FREE and open to the public. We encourage you to join us for our monthly Restorative Yoga class at 10 am before we meet- for a $15 drop-in or you may use any Rise class plan.

We hope you'll join us 🤩

Your favorite cozy Yin class is shifting its rhythm just a bit this fall, but with the same heart behind it. ✨💕

Introducing Yin Yang with Chris- Sundays at 5:30 pm!

Welcome an intentional blend of movement and stillness, connect to the soft nourishment of your breath and provide deeper, more balanced care to your whole being.

This class invites you to move through gentle flow, building to a soft peak, and then linger a little longer in poses that give way to gravity and allow for lengthening and softening.

Yin Yoga is a supportive practice for balancing Yang or active energetic movement, allowing the muscles to heal and restore, and regulating the nervous system by calling in the parasympathetic or the "rest and digest" cues naturally occurring in our bodies. Yin practice can enhance concentration, interoception and promote a sense of deep relaxation, while the Yang elements of this blended practice invite slow mindful movement, encouraging us to balance both essential energies. 🫶

Hear it from his students…
"Chris teaches a super chill yin yoga class. His no rules, no fuss, mellow style is a great way to ease into yin. Deep stretches held for a long time with a few well placed words of encouragement and inspiration, have you leaving feeling like you've just had a massage. Stress relief. Emotional healing. Increased flexibility and improved range of motion. Yep, you do want to try it!" -Audrey

You can still find Chris rotating in on Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga on Sundays at 10 am this fall as well as special events incorporating Yoga Nidra and blended modalities to support restorative rest. ✨

Yesterday, Rise Yoga celebrated 3 years 💗 and today, in honor of Labor Day, as well as this significant milestone for our Rise community, we are resting. And I promise, I am softening into some purposeful rest today too. 😊 But I could not let this weekend pass by without honoring the beautiful humans that make this place so special- who bring the love, light, and life into the space every day, who continue to learn, listen, and get curious about their practice, and who commit to bringing their most authentic selves while also ensuring that you feel safe showing up fully within yours. ✨

When I ask folks what they love most about practicing at Rise, the resounding response is- the people, the sense of community and more specifically, the instructional team who create a welcoming, caring and supportive environment. 🫶

If you have attended one of my classes recently, you may have heard me use the words “Pour in the love”- this theme was inspired by one of my favorite teachers and has been woven throughout my time in reflection recently, especially as I consider all the folks who have poured their love into me and into this studio over the last 3 years as well as the years building up to its birth.

So today, and throughout the coming week and month, as we continue to celebrate the community we are growing here, I invite you to pause, and to pour in the love. Not only into yourself (please keep doing that too!) but also into each other. Thank your practice neighbor for sharing space with you. Give your teachers a shout out and let them know how much you appreciate their presence in this space. And honor yourself for coming back to your mat over and over again. 🤗 We’re grateful you’re here.

We welcome you to share your words of kindness and care here in the comments, privately in person with your teachers, in the form of a review if you feel so moved, OR we’re going old school this week and will have note cards available in the studio so you can drop a Rise birthday message to your teachers as you enter or leave class. Pour on the Love 💕🧘

As always, we thank each of YOU for your presence in this community. We are honored to share this practice with you. 🙏

Starting tomorrow! Come home to your foundations with this weekly Sunday flow class. 🙏
We call Yoga a practice because we come back over and over again, often to the same poses and sequences, understanding that there is always more to learn and that what we practice grows stronger (whether that’s mindset, muscle or misperception), and also that there will never be a perfect arrival to a particular goal. The practice is in persistent curiosity alongside your own unique path. ✨

Stephanie, Andrea and Alli are excited to share this new weekly practice with you, offering a rotation of instructional style and perspective. The spaciousness of this 75- minute class leaves room for breath, movement, exploration of different orientations and to pause to ask questions if you like! Join us as we break down the function of form through flow, with a different focus each week, and with the intention of meeting each individual body in the moment. 🧘💕 We look forward to practicing with you!
