What a great weekend at the season opener! We had a wonderful time, and the team won lots of ribbons! Pictured is Lily, Cora, Brinlee & Madi with Mini Magic after winning first place blue in their respective divisions on the first pattern & then pictured with Picasso at the end of the day having all won the high point rosette champion too! 🤠

Summer is finally coming to a close, which means it’s time for our Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Team’s Season Opener!

The team is open to all students and you may attend one or all of the events. Ask your instructor or text Danya for more information: (602)828-1947

First event is Sunday, September 21st.

Dates for this season are as follows: Sunday mornings 9/21, 10/5, 10/26 (costume contest), 11/23, 1/11, 2/8, 2/22, 3/8, 4/12, 5/3.

Hosts: EVSC at JVA on Val Vista & Hunt Hwy.

So proud of our new varsity barrel team! We took four riders to a jackpot race tonight with over 200 riders, and two placed in the money! Congrats to Ayla for winning 2nd in the 2D and Zoey for winning 1st in the 4D in their division. Shelby and Dani didn’t bring home any money, but they both ran clean patterns!

Who is ready for our barrel racing season!?

Our barrel racing team is gearing up for the new season of East Valley Saddle Club’s 2024/25 races at JVA Ranch beginning Sept 8th, followed by 9/22, 10/6 & 10/20. The whole season is scheduled for ten events from September-May & is open to all of our students - you can compete at just one or go to all of the events. Ask your instructor for more information! 🤠

We are so thankful EVSC offers not only five traditional full speed divisions:
3-7yo
8-10yo
11-14yo
15-24yo
& OPEN

BUT also offers five divisions just for those new to the sport!
Beginners (walk/trot only)
THREE! Novice divisions (slow lope max)
10 & under Youth
11-17 Youth
18+ Adult Novice/Green Horse
AND of course an adorable Leadline division for our youngest little cowboys and cowgirls.

All events are open to the public, and it’s free to come out and watch/cheer for the team! Location is JVA Ranch on ValVista & Hunt Highway and races are all on Sundays from 10am to usually 3-4pm

Fifteen years ago, when the program moved from Scottsdale to Gilbert, our beloved little strawberry roan paint horse Fancy was part of the original group of horses. She was our daughter Stephanie Brook’s horse that she had broke and trained. She shared her with the program as she taught lessons for us for several years, and then started her own family and career - Brook Point Equine. Fancy continued to impact so many lives. We are all greatly saddened by her passing today. Fancy will be forever remembered so very fondly by our family.
