Some urgent information: Two items for Saturday August 1st.

1. Jenny’s Ride, which we officially support, will be taking over the grounds from early morning to late afternoon. The range will be closed until they have cleared all their equipment and have left the property. Please respect their use of BCSA.

2. Since the range is closed, there is a work party scheduled for 9AM to restart the delayed berm project. We need chainsaws, shovels and impact drills. Additional parties are Monday the 3rd at 4PM and Wednesday the 5th at 9AM. Future times and dates will be posted on the website and Facebook on Thursday nights. Same tools needed.

Big news on the Archery Range! The Archery Committee and friends completed their project last weekend with the help of BOD member Ralph Scribner and his tractor. 15 targets have been installed in a new pattern. The kiosk has new signs for the rules posted and a professionally produced trail map is being worked on, so enjoy! Thanks for the hard work from all the individuals involved.

Still looking to sponsor 2-4 women for the fall Becoming an Outdoor Woman Program with Fish & Game. Reach out to us if you are interested.

Expecting dates shortly for women only fi****ms classes from A Girl And A Gun of Southern NH. This may not be going out in an email, but will be posted in the Thursday night posting I plan on doing Thursday nights.

Speaking of classes, Dustin and I want to get started on novice gun classes. Since we can do only 4-5 at a time, thinking of theme grouping depending on responses. Couples only, older males only, older females only, older couples only, etc…you catch my drift. Depending on interest, some weekdays and weekends can be scheduled. All equipment will be supplied if necessary and we are looking at 4 to 5 hours with classroom and range time. Cost will be a donation to BCSA plus ammo cost if needed. 2026 pew pew raffle tickets are now available for the October 4th drawing. 5 guns with 4 winners. Hellcat Pro, S&W Performance Center.38 Special revolver, R***r Glenfield Model A .308, S&W AR Sport 5.56 and a R***r 10/22 .22LR. All have a box of ammo and $50. Winner gets pick of any 2, second pick of one of remaining 3 and so on. Tickets are $10 each and available on the website or Facebook, as well as The Barn Store in Salisbury, Pinnacle in Gilford, Bradford Arms in Meredith, Abe’s Awesome Armaments in New Hampton and Lakes Region Arms and Ammo in Belmont. Please support these shops that support us! If you want multiples to sell on your own, [email protected] and we will get you extras. Tickets limited to 750 this year.

We have had no response in our quest for a new Rangemaster. Armand Pantalone has stepped up as an interim till the fall, when he departs for the season.

While we did receive membership renewals as late as June, it was a trickle compared to years past and has completely dried up in July. The membership director and the treasurer thanks you for helping out.

Hunter Safety coming up in August. Sign up is on the F&G website and don’t worry if it looks full. A percentage will not show up and the instructors will gladly take you in. Scheduled for Wednesday evening the 19th and all day Saturday and Sunday the 22nd and 23rd. The range will be CLOSED from Saturday morning till Sunday afternoon once classes are completed and all class materials removed from the range.

Last item: any interest in a controlled EDC practice class on the range? Not a competition, but practice with your actual EDC set up that you carry concealed. Let me know at [email protected] and we’ll put something fun and practical together.

2026 Gun Raffle - Belknap County Sportsmen Association description

RANGE CLOSURE UPDATE

Range update: BENCO, our contractor, was able to start last week on installing the shipping containers and has made good progress on completing his portion of the project. We believe he will be done by Thursday and portions of the range will be OPEN after BENCO has cleared the property at the end of his workday. The open bays will be posted on the board inside the range building. DO NOT SHOOT ON ANY BAY NOT LISTED AS OPEN!

Phase 2 will start ASAP and We will need YOUR HELP to complete the range work. We are looking for volunteers!!!! Please contact us [email protected]

We have to salvage and reinstall the guardrail beams given to us by NHDOT over the last 2 years and removing the 12 inch landscape screws is proving difficult without impact drills. Chainsaws are necessary to cut to length and shovels for leveling. Bay 1 will be completed first as the timber work is relatively simple and can reopen quickly.

We will post upcoming work details on Facebook every 3 or 4 days until this is completed. We will try to keep disruptions to a minimum, but patience will be required at times.

2026 Meat Raffle - Belknap County Sportsmen Association description

Over the weekend we had a small but very productive work party for the Barry Camp in Berlin, NH. The Belknap County Sportsmens Association sponsors a building. The BCSA building is now used by the staff and as storage. The entry doors were rotted and falling apart. Board of Director Phil T and his son Ian removed the old doors and crafted two new doors from fresh local lumber. Thank you so very much Phil & Ian the doors look amazing and will last for years! Vice President Wes W and his better half Victoria took on the task of removing the remnants of the winter 🐁 , Cleaning, Sanitizing, Organizing, rebuilding the current shelves and adding two new shelves to the one that was existing!
We will be planning another work party for the fall of this year! TBA!
