The Custody Case Caddis. Essentially a synthetic Walt’s Worm with a little extra caddis-y flair to it. This is a fun little attractor pattern for any time of the year and is a fair imitation of a wide array of cased Caddis larva. I’ll usually match the casing color to whatever colors of substrate I’m seeing in the stream bottom.

Little late night creative outlet Dungeon in between orders. I hadn’t spun deer hair in a really long time but had picked up some of ‘s hair from the on a spring trip earlier this year and it was like riding a bike. Fantastic materials make me look like a better tyer than I actually am. I don’t fish streamers nearly as often as I should but I am a glutton for tying them when I can, there’s something very therapeutic about spending the extra time on an articulated pattern at the bench. Dual Gami B10s stingers make this one a very expensive tree hanger but she’s about as grabby as can be!

One of my favorite swing bugs, my Sultan Leech. I fish this in a 2.5” and a 3.5” version with various sink rates between bead chain eyes and brass eyes depending on the pool. It’s a fairly simple pattern consisting of micro bunny or pine squirrel, Senyo’s Fusion Dub, some gold and black foil legs, and some pheasant rump for a collar. Been a killer pattern on a Skagit setup for lake run browns and rainbows here in Wyoming!

Simple, slim, and built to get down fast.

The Quill Body Perdigon combines the clean natural segmentation of a quill body with the dense profile and quick sink rate that makes Perdigon-style nymphs so effective. The sparse tail and slim body keep the fly streamlined in the water, while the copper tungsten bead gets it into the strike zone quickly.

This is an excellent all-around mayfly nymph for Euro nymphing, tight-line nymphing, indicator rigs, and dry dropper setups. The understated, natural profile makes it a great choice when trout are keyed in on smaller mayfly nymphs or when heavily pressured fish aren’t interested in flashier/bulkier patterns.

Fish it as a point fly on a Euro rig, as a dropper behind a heavier nymph, or underneath an indicator/big foam dry. The slim profile allows it to cut through the current quickly and stay down where trout are feeding.

Purple Mayhem, another color way of one of my favorite flies of all time. Deadly little trick to keep in your tailwater box when the fish are being picky! I like to fish this one any time there’s midges and/or Baetis hatching on cloudy days.
