Hope update!
She is almost ready to be weaned! The vet did a CBC recheck yesterday (Monday) and her levels looked good! She needs to stay on red cell for a while but overall she is exactly where she needs to be.
Faith is also doing well! The vet said she looks good and her topline looks really nice. We will have the vet out for Faith the end of September.
Summer is officially over and I've taken the past few days to (sort of) relax and reflect. Although, it's hard to relax when so many things are going on.
I'm going to be candid. I'm tired. Like beyond exhausted. I'm so exhausted from having to plan and guide and teach and re teach and reteach. I've gotten to the point where I'm almost out of words. It's a weird feeling but I'm tired of talking. Tired of listening.
Things are changing. I'm cutting back. More and more I want less. What a funny sentence. I desire less; I want more time to just be and less time running in circles and picking up after people and finishing chores because they forgot.
I don't make enough money to deal with all of this frustration and heart ache. I know- what am I talking about? Well, I only share a fraction of what goes on at the barn; a fraction of the struggles. A fraction of the heart ache; a fraction of the good.
We currently have 8 horses that need leasers.
Not all of these horses are staying long term but all of them still need financial support.
Faith- needs all of her costs covered~ $960/month
Hope- needs all of her costs covered ~$960/
Delilah- needs about 2/3 of her costs covered ~ $600/month
Cressida- needs all of her costs covered ~$1200/month
Jax (retires end of October 2026)- needs about 50% covered ~$450/month
Teddy- (will be available for a 3 month part lease) needs about 50% of his costs covered ~$450/month
Sweet Potato- needs all of his costs covered ~$960/month
We are going into winter. I will have to make some hard decisions if I cannot find leasers for the above horses. Over the next few days I am going to try and sit down and write about each horse and the best case/worst case plan for them.
Stay tuned
