When weโre told to โ fight thru the burn โ, it always helps to know what this actually means and why we must accept this.
Lactate is what we are feeling when we start to hit our threshold. Lactate will enter the muscle and serve as a buffer, a fuel source and a hormonal signal for your heart, liver and brain. This process can only take place when Oxygen is present. So breathe harder inhale deeper which will allow for this process to take place longer. Holding your breathe when the burn begins only makes it worse decreasing the lactate pathway process to enter the muscle.
Allow for this Lactate process to take place and feed it with more oxygen. You will have more fuel to push harder ultimately aiding in muscle hypertrophy and strength.
