Our 2 weeks of Champ camp are done and dusted! We had a great time getting new steps, learning new ceilis, and of course dressing up for theme days! In between all the dancing our dancers worked their technique and fundamentals, while also exercising their core and understanding the importance of a good mindset. Oireachtas season here we come! 💪💪💪

This week was our final week of Summer Camps, and we had a fantastic 2 weeks of our Grades is Great camp! From working our technique in light shoes, enhancing our heavy shoe work, and learning new trad sets, our younger dancers had so much fun dancing their way through August! We especially enjoyed our theme days, including crazy hair day, and ending the week with the Mulcahy signature “Toilet Paper Feis!” We’re so excited to see these dancers grow in the fall and we can’t wait for what is to come!

Our final senior of 2026 is Kate Boyle!

Kate’s favorite dance memory was summer camp when she got to make new dances each week, and she started Irish dancing when she was 5. Irish dance has taught her what it means to be apart of a community, and how to lift up those around her while also not forgetting about herself. She says she wants little dancers to “Enjoy the fun parts of life. Dance can get stressfull but rember the times you have fun. You can see when a dancer is having fun while dancing.” Irish dance is a family to her and helped shape her by increasing her confidence, helping others, and having self discipline.

Kate will be attending Colby College in the fall.

Our next senior is Kaleigh Aparo!

Kaleigh has been dancing since she was 4, and she says that it has taught her so many valuable lessons that she will continue to hold with her. Her favorite dance memory was preparing for the 2017 Nationals in New Orleans, and she says that Irish dance has turned into a lifelong love and a way to connect with her culture and heritage. Kaleigh says that “Irish dance helped shape me by teaching me responsibility, compassion, and commitment, and support for others.” Something she would say to a beginner is to enjoy every second because the time flies fast!

Kaleigh will be attending Sacred Heart University in the fall.

Our next senior to celebrate is Màiri!

Her favorite Mulcahy memory was her first summer camp, and she came to Mulcahy for the supportive environment and the positive space provided to grow as a dancer. She loves Irish dance because it provides discipline and an enjoyable way to work out. She says she would tell younger dancers to “have fun, make friends, and don’t forget to practice! Building a good foundation now is imperative for improving your dancing later.” She says that Irish dance has changed her life in so many ways and will remember fondly all the lifetime memories and unique experiences like performing with her parents.

Màiri will be attending the University of St. Andrew’s in Scotland this fall.
