Member-Guest mode is officially underway!

A huge shoutout to our entire maintenance team. The guys have been staying late, working extra weekends, and doing whatever it takes to get this place dialed in.
The effort they’re putting in now is going to show in a big way next week.

Apparently Mother Nature didn’t get the memo that it’s September! g! We’re still spraying plant protectants on the greens like it’s the middle of summer. We’re also carefully managing irrigation and watering the greens as needed to help keep them healthy and consistent through these challenging conditions. Bentgrass is tired after a long season, and these hot days, warm nights, and heavy humidity continue to create plenty of disease pressure. We aren’t giving up now, though—we’ll keep protecting the greens, fine-tuning moisture levels, and pushing through until cooler weather finally arrives.
I’ve also been walking the course in the evenings, enjoying a few sunsets and thinking about what else we can do to make the property feel extra special. I’m also jumping in on course setup and handling some of the smaller details so the crew can stay focused on the bigger jobs. It takes everyone working together to make it happen!

We even got the flagpole restrung using a 120-foot boom lift—a pretty impressive operation just to get Old Glory flying again. Now the clubhouse finally looks like our logo again!

Still plenty of work ahead, but everything is starting to come together. The countdown to Member-Guest is on!

A different kind of swing on the range 🎶⛳️

This weekend, we hosted our 2nd Annual Concert on the Range featuring Jangling Reinharts!

Kids ran and played, friends danced, families enjoyed time together, and the range came alive with music and laughter.

A night of community, connection, and making memories together. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the evening with us!

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our Drive, Chip & Putt event this month! We had a fantastic afternoon filled with great shots, friendly competition, and, most importantly, lots of fun.

We loved seeing our junior golfers step up to the challenge and showcase their skills in driving, chipping, and putting. Thank you to all of the parents and families who came out to support the players and make the event such a great success.

A Few Quick Highlights

🏌️ Longest Drives: Chris DeSoto - 320 Yards.

⛳ Closest Chips: Liam Lind with the best scores.

🎯 Putting Highlights: Brooks Baum with an impressive score.

⭐ Biggest Takeaway: Great sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and a lot of impressive golf!

Joe Wagner’s, Golf Course Superintendent, update this week: Inside TDC Agronomy & 9

The little details are starting to come together around the course.

With more rain in the forecast, we’re taking advantage of the window to get the course dialed in - focusing on definition, mowing, and cleaning up the little things that make a big difference.

On the greens, we’re using seed and sand to address some small imperfections. We’re going after the details now so everything has plenty of time to heal and be ready for the Member-Guest next month. These areas should take about a week to recover.

The driving range is also getting ready for Friday’s concert. We’re getting the posts set and mowing the range again tomorrow after giving it a full mow last Monday. A big thank you to the Pro Shop for staying on top of keeping the range picked clean. It makes our job much easier and allows us to do what we need to do.
We also had Tyler Watt with Ironside Forests out today for a site visit as we start planning upcoming tree work this fall. There’s going to be a lot of work ahead, but they seem to be up for the challenge. We definitely got around the property in style today!

And golfers - that UTV is NOT permitted on the golf course, so don’t go buy one thinking you’ve found the ultimate golf cart.

Joe Wagner’s ⛳️ most recent course update:

“What am I looking for when I pull probes from the greens?

The surface may look healthy, but a soil probe shows us what is happening underneath—where the overall health of the turf begins.

* Healthy roots: The white, fibrous roots visible throughout this profile indicate active, healthy growth. Seeing roots like these in August—after a month of intense heat and heavy rainfall—is especially impressive.
* Pore space: The small openings visible between the sand particles allow water to drain and oxygen to reach the roots. This balance of air and water is critical for healthy turf and firm putting surfaces.
* Moisture: The profile shows whether water is moving evenly or if certain areas are staying too wet or becoming too dry.
* Organic matter and layering: Excessive buildup or compacted layers can reduce pore space, restrict drainage, and limit root growth.
* A consistent sand profile: An open, uniform profile promotes drainage, oxygen movement, and deeper rooting.

These observations help guide our irrigation, aeration, topdressing, fertility, and disease-management decisions. The goal isn’t simply green grass—it’s a healthy root system that produces firm, consistent putting surfaces.”

Annual TDC Cardboard Boat Regatta!!

One of our favorite summer traditions - despite the thunderstorms Friday causing a slight pushback of race time to Saturday afternoon- this event was such a great time. We love seeing family and friends constructing boats together and the joyful competition of the kids getting to show off their boat and paddling skills in the water!

Thank you to everyone who participated and to all of our spectators cheering the racers on!
