Its been an exciting turkey season so far in Maryland. How is everyone else doing this year?

Another awsome weekend in the book. Friday I was able to harvest an 8 point buck and Saturday was an amazing day for bird hunting. I was able to harvest my first pair of Mallards ever.

Had an awsome weekend with Josh and Jimmy Bush and Chris Day . Friday was a great day for birds. Saturday was just to clear for them to fly low. We will try again next Saturday!

Very active morning hunt. He came in chasing does and I was lucky to get a shot on him. Very greatful for Blood Tracking Dogs, LLC AJ Bartlinski ,the boys and Remi for coming out and helping me track it. As a bonus the boys found and very nice 7 point dead head.

It's was a good way to end the weekend. Aj got the call from a customer needing a track for the buck his wife shot last night. After questioning the hunter Aj determined it was a liver shot and asked me to have Lizzy run it in the morning. Lizzy and I get there and the hunter takes us to the hit site. It took a few mins to work everything out and then she was hot on the trail. She made it to where the last blood that was found by the hunter and then it was all her. She took right to the trail the deer was on with short left to right movement so I knew she was on the interdigital as there was no visable blood. We went another 120-150 yards and she found the deer. To me it looked liked it died with his head proped up. Lizzy got to with-in 5 yards of the deer and he jumped up and took off. He looked like he was really hurt. I held Lizzy from chasing him and called Aj. He and I decided it would be best to mark where he was bedded and back out and wait a little longer to be sure he passes and not jump him again. So we did. I told the hunter we would be back at 1 to start the track again. I had Aj and Remi meet us there. We went to were the bed was and we let both Lizzy and Remi work. They both made it over the knoll and were working. Remi air scented to the right and that's the way Lizzy went. Lizzy ended up right on the buck. Congratulations to the hunter on her first Buck.

Saturday morning I was able to put a doe down on the ground and have Lizzy track for me.
