Outside, all around us. In the trees. In the air. The birds flying above. The rats rustling below. The sun, the earth.
There is a world. Russling around us everyday. In peace with itself. A chaotic dance to the sounds of wind smashing through the trees and around stone walls whistling through our streets.
Yet, we never take a moment to listen to the beauty that surrounds us. All day. Every day.
Too caught up in our hustled mundane lives. Fractured attempts at finding solitude in excess. Never taking a moment to realize what already exists. The abundance of life and solitude that surrounds us every day. The simplicity of what existence on earth really means.
I grew up in simple times. When we climbed up on our roofs and gazed at the stars. Searching for a glimpse of the heavens. We ran in the streets. Laughing, screaming joyfully and playing loudly in what nature provided us. No technology to guide us. Only our connection with our surroundings. You played till the lights came on. The natural progression of time and essence guiding us through our day.
We've lost our way. Simplicity replaced by technology. Communication replaced by keypad. Each minute in front of our screen sucking away the time you could spend speaking to a person you love.
Im afraid of our future. The division is already here. The angst and hatred at a pinnacle I've never seen in 62 years on this planet. And I've experienced a lot. I've lived a full life.
My only hope is we can restore peace amongst ourselves. We are all neighbors. We are all human. We all have faults. No person is perfect. None.
If you've read this far. Please, live in peace. And be thankful for this moment.
We are not promised tomorrow.
Love. Peace. Harmony.

Been a minute since posting. Blew my back out at my last meet on squat 3. I finished it. But so was I. A few weeks of recuperation and some self love rehab and here we are.
160lbs of band tension. Which had me worried more than anything else. Band compression is a different beast.
Vid 1 is 385. Felt great. Vid 2 is 405 plus the 160 in bands. Im pretty happy with it. And the back took the pressure.
Ill stay raw for the year. Looking to do a raw comp in fall. Yes..raw.
Stay tuned. Its all uphill from here. Rebuilding and keeping my s**t together.
It takes a crew. .trex whatever the f*k Chewy

Last weekend recap from USPA Bench Nationals. The main goal.was to survive the day.
As some of you know, I did raw, single ply and banded all in one day.
Raw was 358 with a 370 miss.
Single ply was 513 and 545 miss
Banded was 600 and 640. Both successful. Skipped 3rd attempt. I was beat by end of the day. 6hrs of benching is a grind in 3 disciplines.
Single ply and band are national and World Records.
Im excited to still be able to do these things and have fun doing it.
One more meet May 3rd in Tucson.
Thank you to my Preacher Powerlifting family. For all your support.
Thank you for an amazing facility to do what we do.
Tell the devil Im busy. I got s**t to do.

Tomorrow we party. Bench Press Nationals right here in Phoenix.
I will try something not done before.
Raw, single ply and multiply ply records in one day. One competition.
Looking forward to giving this a ride. Lets see what this old body has in it. I love a challenge.
Life is too short to watch. Grab it by the balls and ride it like a wild horse!
Its showtime baby!
