Dear Friend of the Verdugo Mountains 10K,

Unfortunately, due to the instability of the hillside on the Brand Motorway, the City of Glendale has to cancel the 2022 Verdugo Mountains 10K. The hillside experienced rockslides impacting the safety of the course. After multiple assessments and exploring alternate locations, there was no other option.

FREE VERDUGO10K TRAINING PROGRAM

Starting February 27th, join us every Sunday (except Easter, 4/17) for our free training program. Led by our Race Director, Charlie Marko, you'll get the guidance you need to be ready for race day. We'll even have special guests who'll share their training tips and give expert advice. Whether you're a "first timer" whose goal is to cross the finish line, or a veteran trail runner looking to improve upon your personal best, this program is for you.

The training group meets at 8:00am at Brand Park, located at 1601 W. Mountain Street, Glendale 91201 in front of the Verdugo Mountains 10K Banner located near the Doctors House (on the west side of the park). Be sure to bring water and wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

SESSION DATES: Feb. 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27, and April 3, 10, 24. (No Training on Easter 4/17/22)

NOTE: Please arrive a few minutes early to sign waivers before we begin. The signed waiver is valid for all 8 dates if you should decide to attend all 8 training sessions. The training programs run about 60-90 minutes, gradually increasing each week. Many may head up to a certain point on the trail and come down on their own if their personal schedule does not allow for them to stay on schedule with the group the whole time. Many hikers will come down at different times. The pace and duration is really set by the individual.
