Joseph Pilates looked to nature when developing his method—especially the effortless movement of the baby 👶🏻 and the cat 🐱.

Animals don’t “work out.” They stretch, climb, crawl, reach, balance, run and rest. Their whole bodies participate. 💪🏼

Spending the day surrounded by tigers, elephants and so many incredible animals is a beautiful reminder: movement was never meant to be separate from life.

Pilates helps us return to something instinctive—to move with strength, mobility, coordination and ease.

Maybe the animals have been showing us how all along.

Root before you reach.

In Teaser, connect to your center first. Then extend your legs from that support. Slow down and let your breath lead your movement.

Progress comes from returning to a connection to your center—not from forcing perfect form. Every wobble is an opportunity to listen, reset, and begin again.

Save this for your next practice, and let me know: can you feel your center supporting you?

Don’t hide from asymmetry—get curious about it. Pilates reveals where we compensate, disconnect, or lack control, then gives us the tools to create greater balance, support, and ease.😁

The struggle is information—and sometimes, it’s exactly where we find our strength. ✨

Ready to discover what Pilates can reveal in your body? Come practice with us at Balance & Grace Pilates.

“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” — Joseph Pilates

Having a Pilates practice lets me say YES to so many other things. 🥰

Because when you feel good in your body it’s easier to do good, not just for yourself but also for the people and the world around you. 🌍

Do Pilates, Do Life better ☺️. ✨

We don’t train just to get better at exercise. We train to get better at LIFE. 💪

Pilates + strength training keep me strong, mobile, curious, and ready to say YES to moments like this.

Move well. Stay strong. Keep playing. 🩵💫☺️

Pilates is a practice that travels with me—and one I’m always excited to come home to. 🤍

Pilates is a system, a conversation, and a practice that keeps evolving. This weekend, I get to share a piece of it with a beautiful room full of dancers.

And as I prepare to begin training future teachers at my studio in January, I’m even more excited to share the depth of the entire system—and help others build a practice they’ll still be passionate about decades from now.🩵💫

Have a plan. And be willing to change it. ✨

Today I had a plan but my body was asking for strength, stretch, space, and connection in a different way….so I listened.

It turned out the Cadillac was exactly what I needed.🩵💫

Listen. Adjust. Trust the practice and learn to trust yourself.

You deserve to be listened to…
most importantly by yourself 😌🤍

I absolutely LOVE ❤️ doing Pilates on my porch in the early morning but once I’m a while nature steps in with some unexpected guests…🪲🐿️😜🐦‍⬛😂🪶🌻.

💫Laugh, have fun, and remember a Pilates practice should be full of joy and playfulness. 🤸🏾‍♀️🩵😁

“You’re not weak. You’re just impatient.”, said my brilliant teacher Ken Krech in class today.

That one landed. Hard. 🤓💫

Progress doesn’t always need more effort—sometimes it needs more time. Keep showing up, trust the work, and give your practice the patience it deserves.

Today, the strength I’ve been building finally looked as strong as it felt. 🤍

Don’t rush to get somewhere. ✨

Listen. Breathe. Find the support that’s already there, and let the movement come from connection—not force.

The good, juicy stuff is in the moments we’re usually in a hurry to move past.

Be where you are. Everything you need is already there. 🩵
