Unfortunately due to the heat, Glenside's 4th of July Parade is being altered and the Cassidy Dancers will not be performing this year. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day! 🇺🇲 🎆
The Greater Glenside Patriotic Association is in a challenging position.
We love our community and realize we must continue the 123-consecutive-year tradition of celebrating America's Independence with a parade.
However, we also understand we need to consider the weather forcasted, and minimize the risks to our Glenside family.
With a focus on celebrating our amazing tradition, and considering safety while doing so, we have decided to provide an alternate parade celebration.
At 6:00 PM:
Starting at The North Penn VFW on Jenkintown Road, fire departments from Abington and Cheltenham will parade to Abington High School.
The route will head down Jenkintown Road, turning left on Abington Avenue, to Abington High School.
Additionally, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM:
Stationed throughout the Abington Middle and Senior High School campuses, as well as Copper Beech campus, the World Championship International and out-of-state bands who have traveled thousands of miles to celebrate with us by marching in our parade will still be a part of our celebration, performing in several locations throughout the campus.
At 9:00: Fireworks as planned!
Unfortunately, we need to officially cancel the Children's Program at Renninger Park for this year.
We want to thank the Abington and Cheltenham Township's Police and Fire Departments, as well as their Emergency Management Divisions for their incredible help and support during this process! They truly are amazing partners in this celebration!
We look forward to continuing the unforgettable tradition of celebrating the 4th of July with you all in Glenside.
*Edit: Our original post stated that the PA Army National Guard’s 28th ID Band would no longer be performing. We are thrilled to say that they will, in fact, be performing for a very appreciative community. The Band will be performing along with other parade bands from 7-9 PM across the Abington school campus (Copper Beech, Middle School, and Senior High).
We are over a week out from our recital day and still beaming with joy! Congratulations to all of our dancers on a wonderful day of performances. We hope you enjoy some of these moments captured from backstage.

✨️SENIOR SPOTLIGHT✨️ Cecilia is a legacy Cassidy Dancer, following in her mother's footsteps. She began dancing at the age of 3. Cecilia takes ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and production but her favorite style to dance is lyrical. One of Cecilia's favorite dances she has performed is this year's lyrical, Yellow Flicker Beat. Next year Cecilia will study Criminal Justice at Montco and hopes to continue taking dance classes.
Cecilia, it seems like yesterday you were a tiny dancer walking through the studio doors for the first time. You have grown into such a strong young lady and beautiful dancer. Your Cassidy Dance Studio family is so proud of you and can't wait to see what you do next!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT✨️ Charlotte started dancing at the Cassidy Dance Studio at the age of 7. Her favorite memories are learning her senior solo with Miss Chelsea and getting pulled into the 4th of July parade and having to improv. Next year Charlotte plans to study Physics at Villanova University.
Charlotte's advice to her peers is "Keep your head up. Don’t compare yourself to others, but dance fully for them instead.
Dance is a means of expression, so find joy in the art of using your body to tell people how you have learned and grown. And ultimately, have fun. dance isn’t supposed to be stressful, but a way to release stress. Love you guys!"
Charlotte, your grace and poise shine both on and off the stage. Although your senior dance season was cut short, we are so proud of you! We can't wait to see what you do next!
5️⃣ days until the recital! Will we see you there?!
We are ONE WEEK away from our annual recital and these dancers are SO excited! Catch them, along with the rest of the Cassidy Dancers, next Saturday June 13th at 10am, 1pm and 4pm at Springfield High School!

Keira has been dancing at the Cassidy Dance Studio since the age of 4. Her favorite memory is last year's Disney World trip, where she performed one of her favorite dances, the Can-Can. Keira's advice to her peers is "enjoy every moment and always believe in yourself".
Keira, it has been a joy to watch you shine both on and off stage. Best of luck with your new adventure! Your Cassidy Dance Studio family is so proud of you and will miss you next year.
