This Grandparents Day, we’re celebrating recreation spaces that bring generations together.
A great community park can offer something for everyone—from playgrounds and swings to walking paths, comfortable seating, shade, outdoor fitness and places to simply spend time together.
Because parks aren’t just places for kids.
They’re places for families, grandparents, neighbors and entire communities to connect.

Happy Labor Day from MWP Recreation! 🇺🇸

Today, we’re recognizing the many people behind every playground, park and recreation space.

From designers and project managers to sales representatives, installers, manufacturers, landscape architects, parks professionals and community partners, bringing a recreation space to life takes an incredible team.

We’re grateful for the people who put in the work—both behind the scenes and in the field—to create spaces where communities can gather, move and play.

🍎 Back to school means back to learning—and not all learning happens inside the classroom.

The playground is a place where kids practice skills they’ll use for a lifetime.
Through play, children learn how to communicate, solve problems, take appropriate risks, build confidence, make new friends and keep trying when something feels challenging.

As students head back to school this fall, we’re celebrating the playgrounds and recreation spaces that give kids room to move, imagine, connect and grow.
Here’s to a great school year—and plenty of time for play along the way!

Meet One of the Designers Behind the Play, Sam Brusen

For our latest MWP Recreation Employee Spotlight, we’re getting to know one of our talented Land Designers!

One of his favorite parts of the job is seeing a playground go from a design on a screen to a space filled with kids and families.

A favorite project? Hansen Park in New Brighton, one of the largest playgrounds he’s helped design and a space filled with inclusive play opportunities.

He attended the grand opening and watched hundreds of people enjoying his design—but his favorite feedback may have come later from his four-year-old niece.

When he asked what her favorite part of the playground was, she answered: “I loved everything!” ❤

Outside of designing playgrounds, he stays busy playing flag football, attending concerts, building LEGO sets, watching F1 races and enjoying pro wrestling.

We’re grateful for the talented people behind our projects who help create places where kids can play, grow, make friends and create memories.
