On this week’s 𝐹𝒶𝓇𝓂 𝐹𝑒𝒶𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒 we have Capricorn Farm. Capricorn Farm is a large full-service show and sale stable owned and operated by Katie Keller Thomas. At CF they offer Hunter, Jumper and Equitation training, showing, breeding and sales. This stunning facility is based in the foothills of Golden, CO, making for a central hot spot for those in Denver & Boulder. One of Katie’s favorite tips & tricks to keep her aisles clean and tidy is to use mounted storage boxes. These storage containers are mounted to the front of the stall and do a great job of keeping items clean, off the floor and out of the way. The plastic outer shell also does a great job at keeping pests out of treats/feed, keeping you and your horse happy!

Pre-Sale for Capricorn Boarders and Customers/Friends/Family of MRC on Friday. We hope you all can understand that we wanted this group to be able to shop first, but don’t despair there will be over 700 items for sale (bridles, bits, girths, saddle pads, coolers, tack boxes and tack box covers, clippers and blades, horse vacuum, horse boots, ice boots, electromagnetic blanket and hoof pad, lounge furniture, shade canopy/tent, and more)! Once the pre-sale is finished we will post a list of the remaining items on Friday night so watch for a post on Friday evening! PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT (on this post) OR DM about pricing, unfortunately we won't have time to respond to these inquiries and we ask that you just wait for the list of items on Friday.

TIPS THE SALE: Bring your own boxes, bags, wheelbarrows, etc. to carry your things. There will be some areas to set up piles of items while you shop for more, but we ask that if you put it in your pile you agree to purchase it. All items must go so we need people to be able to see those items.

It is with both sadness and well wishes that we announce that MRC will be closing it's barn doors as our mentor, friend and best trainer, Tracye, changes her career focus to judging and clinics. She's also decided that while mostly mild, winters are just not fun, and is headed to the Florida sunshine. Please join us this Friday at the CHJA medal finals exhibitor party as we celebrate her contributions to our community and send her off in style. The party will be from 4:30-7:30pm

Summer Camp 2021

What’s better than being around a horse and spending time with your friends? Calling all horse loving kids ages 6-14 to Capricorn Day Camp!

Horsemanship focused, riders will be in small groups by experience level. Over the course of 3 days, campers will learn all things horse care related and get to ride!

Horsemanship classes include but are not limited to: grooming and bathing 101, horse anatomy, nutrition, tacking and untacking, types of bridles, bits, and saddles, course setting and jump 101, barn safety, and much more!

During camp, riders will have a 30-45 minute group or semi-private group lesson with our instructors. In addition to riding and horsemanship class, campers will participate in a daily activity. From arts and crafts to further equine education, campers will have a unique experience every day.

Dates and Fees: Camp will run from 9am-130pm June 28th, 29th, and 30th with limited availability. Early registration for camp is $140 per day, per child, payable in advance by June 10th.

What to wear: Each child will need to wear a riding boot or closed toe shoe with a square heel, jeans or riding pants, and must bring their own ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet. Helmets can be purchased online or in store at The Grey Tail located at 19000 W 58th Ave, Golden, CO 80403, or at Dover Saddlery located at 11120 S Twenty Mile Rd, Parker, CO 80134

What to pack: Please make sure to pack a snack and water bottle.

We are proud to officially welcome Kelley Buringa and Double L Farm to Colorado! After spending the past few years on the show circuit in Texas, Kelley is returning to her roots in Colorado at Capricorn Farm. Her experience riding in the International Hunter Derby ring to the Grand Prix ring make her a great addition to our barn. We are excited to see what this new chapter brings!
