Here's a handy volunteer installing a new Chickadee nesting house at the range. In keeping with our goal of always improving the local habitat for wildlife, we now have four bird houses, one owl nesting platform and two bat houses. If you have any suggestions for more improvements, let's hear them!

Hey, all you crazy archer types: Have a great 4th of July!

Fair warning! A young bear was spotted ambling around in the range this morning (July 2). He's been hanging around the southwest end of the property in the dense cover by the Moose and Bedded Elk lanes (Lane 15) and behind Sasquatch. He's not aggressive but not afraid either. Proceed at your own risk. (Photos by fearless member Kevin.)

Finally, after two years of successful thistle control! Photo #1 shows one of the areas reclaimed from those noxious thistles that had taken over many parts of the range two years ago. (Those nasty things grew to over 8 feet tall and choked out everything else.) Now the entire range boasts an "all clear."

Have you seen photos of those triangle structures placed on Normandy Beach by the Germans to repel beach landings by the Allies? Well, we are trying the same idea to keep people from cutting between lanes. (If you don't get it, please review the "Range Rules" number six.)

A revolving door! Two weeks ago we had a pair of Chickadees nesting in this house. Today the Wrens have returned and have taken up housekeeping.

For years, our bow hangers were all fine and in a line. Today, they have been vandalized. Whoever is doing this, with their bloated ego and feeling of self-entitlement, you are not welcome at our club. Believe us, if we find who's doing this - member or guest - you will never be back.
