Fun little Friday open mat tonight #🇺🇸

New blue belt alert :) Ella is always fun and playful on the mats, a quick learner, and polite and friendly to everyone. To sum it up, a wonderful student to have at the gym. We’re going to be sad to lose her when she starts at West Point this summer, but excited to see her starting big things in life. Congrats Ella!!

Couldn’t be prouder of .robinson on his purple belt. It’s the first purple we’ve given out, and it’s someone we’ve had the fortune of training from day one white belt. Joe works harder than almost anyone I know - both off the mats and on - and it shows in how fast he’s progressed. Welcome to the best belt out of all of em bud.

Congrats to Sage - our newest blue belt at the gym. Sage is a great example of how you can take breaks from the sport for a while but still make consistent progress over time. Many people view grappling as a rush to the finish line - chasing the next belt as the main goal. Sage has prioritized balance in his life and taken occasional breaks but consistently came back to the gym. He’s done well in comps at white belt and is getting harder and harder to catch on the mat. We couldn’t be prouder of the progress he’s made and are very excited to mercilessly leg lock him now that’s he’s a blue belt.

Can’t overstate how proud we are of Alex - our first brown belt promotion at Golden Jiu Jitsu. He’s always immensely helpful and kind to everyone that walks through the door and we couldn’t be happier to have him be a part of our community. Not only is he incredibly talented and skilled - coming after people twice his size with no hesitation - he’s one of the best training partners you could ask for. Thank you for trusting us to coach you Alex, we appreciate you :)
