A reminder that horsemanship can be found in EVERY discipline! Watch this a few times and note the horse’s expressions as he figures out the bridle is broken and starts looking for cues from the rider elsewhere (reins around neck and legs cues).

As we navigate 2020 and every one of it’s uncertainties, I’m focusing on a few of the positives:
1️⃣ Voting. I’m grateful to be apart of a process where my voice matters, even when I feel like it doesn’t. Regardless of your political beliefs, the only thing I actually judge you for is not voting 😂 we are so fortunate to reside somewhere intended to serve citizens. I hope you see changes you want to make in our nation and go do something about it.
2️⃣ Gratitude. This rough year tore me down and reminded me that gratitude starts at things like health. I’m almost finished with ACL recovery. It has been roughly 17 years since I’ve gone this long without riding ☠️ so as it draws to an end (43 days, but who’s counting?) I realize I’ll be going forward with more focus on health and exercise. Self care moved up a few pegs.
3️⃣ No more excuses. Life is short and I’m finding too many reasons to delay or not do “big” things. So I’m looking at some 2021 plans with hopes that even if the pandemic continues I can still have some new horses in that everyone can follow along with virtually.
4️⃣ Community. I’m not sure if it’s been social distancing, the election year, riots, or what, but there’s been some lonely moments this year. I’ve found sanctuary in my groups of fellow enthusiasts. So that’s where you’ll find me during these times. The rescue, volunteering, instructing 4H. I’ll be giving as much as I can to my community, to help build it, and for my own sanity.
It’s our job to put the work into areas that we want to see fixed and improved. Forget globally, think locally. What can you do to improve your community? Now go do it.

On the plus side, if 2020 throws something like “fresh-water-river-sharks” at us, Bojack will have 10/10 chance of survival.
