I definitely need to put on my Groswold Ski’s next season. I cannot wait!!!!

My grandfather and his team were incredibly brilliant!!! Their ability to envision the finest ski and bring it to fruition was/is remarkable!!! How I wish I could have been a part of the Groswold Ski Company manufacturing team. That would have been absolutely amazing….

It will be so amazing to watch all of the vegetation blossom and bloom…💟

Soo thankful my health is now allowing me to pursue/continue my father’s dream.!I have BEAT that monater and am excited to collaborate with those are are both knowledgeable and compassionate about preserving skiing history!!! Woo hoo!!!

-- to female skiers in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado c. 1900. Early skiers, like these women, used a long, single wooden pole for balance and steering. These women were likely members of the Hot Sulphur Springs Winter Sports Club, the first organized ski club in Colorado. Just as we do today, skiing was a way to socialize during the long, snowy winters of Colorado.

Through this post, we learned that Laura Throckmorton McLean, is the second from the left. She is the mother of Olympic skier and Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame inductee, Barney McLean. Thank you for putting a name to a face here, Heidi.
