Located just off the banks of the Mississippi River in Gonzales, Louisiana and behind the historic Houmas House Plantation, Pelican Point combines British style golf with a Louisiana flair. Pelican Point Golf Club, which covers over 450 acres of what was once a sugar cane farm, was selected by Golf Digest as one of the Best Places to Play in 2004. The golf course is surrounded by upscale residential homes and located in Ascension Parish which is one of the fastest growing Parishes in Louisiana. Pelican Point Golf Club is located only 20 minutes from Baton Rouge and 40 minutes from the New Orleans International Airport, (1.5 miles South of Interstate 10) thus providing locals, visitors, convention attendees, and businesses easy access via Interstate 10. We would like to take this time to congratulate Daniel Steele on becoming the Head Golf Professional at Copper Mill! Congrats Daniel!

We would also like to take this time to introduce our new Assistant Golf Professional - Jackson McCreary

Jackson graduated from high school in 2022 from Doyle High School, and began pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice while working in the golf industry. During that time, he discovered his true passion for the game of golf and chose to focus on building a career in the sport.

With approximately four years of experience in the golf industry, Jackson has worked at both Greystone Country Club in Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Carter Plantation in Springfield, Louisiana. For the past two years, he has served as Golf Director, where he has successfully organized and managed a variety of golf events, including junior golf camps.

Jackson is passionate about growing the game and enjoys helping golfers of all ages and skill levels improve their abilities while fostering a fun and engaging learning environment.

Jackson is currently pursuing his PGA certification and looks forward to sharing his knowledge, experience, and passion for the game with others.

Congratulations to Jeff Walker for making a hole-in-one on our Links hole #4 this weekend.

Jeff hit a seven iron from 126 yards on the par 3. It was his sixth hole-in-one in his golf career which started in the 1970s.

Witnesses were Richard Clement and Brent Broussard.
