Genevieve Lish began her dance career a little later in life. After supporting her grands in dance for so many years at The Dancers Academy, she finally enrolled in ballet class. One of the absolute best moments of my life is when the family she had always supported came to see her shine like a bright star on stage at recital. The roles were reversed, they came to see their grandmother as a ballerina. She was so proud of her accomplishments along with Tammy Carpenter and everyone present. When she came off the stage after her performance her expression was absolutely priceless. I will forever cherish that memory and my time with Genevieve. Over the years this family shared 4 generations of dancers at TDA. Genevieve’s daughter, Kathleen is the epitome of inward as well as outward beauty! There was also a great videographer with a heart of gold that performed onstage in the family. This family has always been so good to me and I am grateful God placed each and every one of them in my life.
Genevieve Dorris Lish was 94 when she passed. She left such a beautiful legacy of faith, music and family. I will certainly be thinking of her wonderful family in the days to come.
