2025 Off-Season Training Activities (OTAs)

Saturday, December 7th: OTA #1 – Speed and Agility Training Camp (All Positions)
Focus: Speed and agility training for all athletes
40-Yard Dash
Broad Jump
T and L Drills
Receiver Gauntlet

Saturday, December 14th: OTA #2 – Blocking and Linemen Minicamp
Focus: Run and pass blocking techniques (open to all, with a primary focus on OL/DL and WR/RB Blocking)
3-Point Stance and Start
B.L.A.S.T. and C.U.F.F. principles
Bridge Fit, Pillar Fit, Buckle Fit
WR / RB Blocking Principles
OL Techniques: Reach Block, Down Block, Gap Scheme vs. Zone Blocking, and Pass Blocking

Saturday, December 21st: OTA #3 – QB/WR/DB Minicamp
Focus: Skills for QBs, WRs, and DBs (open to all, with a focus on skill positions)
Route Tree: Understanding numbers and patterns
Proper Stance and Starts for WRs and DBs
Backpedaling Techniques
Press, Man, and Zone Coverage: Definitions and Purposes

Saturday, December 28th: OTA #4 – RB/LB Minicamp
Focus: Core skills for RBs and LBs (open to all, with a focus on these positions)
Gap vs. Zone Run Scheme
Understanding the Mesh
Ball Security
Zone vs. Man Coverage
Read Step and React

Exciting development, we are thrilled to introduce Eric Gilboe as the Head Coach of our tackle program. Coach Gilboe brings over a decade of coaching experience, emphasizing foundational skills, player accountability, and a team-first mentality. His recent achievements include:

Leading the Verrado Jr. Vipers to the AYFL 13U Division 2 #1 Seed in Fall 2024

Securing the AYFL 12U Division 3 State Championship in Spring 2024

Winning the NYS 11U Division 4 State Championship in Spring 2023

Coach Gilboe's philosophy centers on the belief that every athlete is important and has an impact on the game. He prioritizes students first, family and team second, and athletes third, fostering a culture of positivity and teamwork.
