Three-year-old WILD woman 😂💦

Gia is my niece and the fourth kid in our family to go through survival swim, and I had the privilege of teaching her myself. Watching her in the water is such a big reminder of why I became an instructor in the first place.

Survival swim gets a bad rap sometimes, with people worrying kids will end up scared of the water, but with my own kids, Gia, and so many of my students, I’ve seen the complete opposite. They are absolute FISH and cannot stay out of the water 😂

I tell every parent I know: teach them the skills first. The confidence and love for the water come right along with it.

Next summer we’ll work on that swim team dive… because right now we’re apparently specializing in aggressive belly flops and scary front flips 😂🤸🏼‍♀️💦

Another session wrapped up and I’m feeling so grateful for every little swimmer and family who trusted me along the way. Watching these kids work hard, build life-saving skills, and become stronger and more confident in the water is something I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you for showing up, trusting the process, cheering on the hard days, and celebrating every big win. 🤍

You can practice a skill a hundred times in a lesson, but seeing it translate to a real, unexpected moment is something else.

An accidental fall. An immediate response. Straight into a float. 🙌🏼

No prompting. No practice setup. Just a child knowing what to do.

THIS is the goal. 💙
