This upcoming Saturday, let’s try it again all my clients and supporters we’ve made over the years out Ligonier way. I’m at Hanna’s town Farmers Market this Saturday, once again the only herb farmer bringing their farm produce right to your community!

Last time I was there a fellow farmer made a very interesting / cause for pause comment.
He described the apothecary as supplements.

My farmer, why in the world are you thinking / talking / acting / like that?

I. Am. A Farmer. Just like you. Sowing, planting, harvesting in best practices for highest quality nutrition. I dry the Plants to preserve them. I infused them to topicals and tinctures: this is exactly what you call “farm added value products” or Preserving the nutrition for later use.

I grow all my ingredients. I am a farmer, of the herbal traditions of thousands of years.

I am not a merchant. Nor am I selling supplements.

I am a Farmer. I am a Craftswoman. I am a Teacher. I am a Therapist. And I work with Land to serve families, women, children, elders, since 2015.

Come see why thousands of women trust my farm and my services, shop online, sign up for my newsletter, and so much more connective and transformative offerings at

One thing about being a farmer, you really can’t ever leave, especially in season.

One thing about being a professional provider of care, education and leadership is service doesn’t require sacrifice, suffering, or self betrayal.

One thing about respectful and reciprocal relationships is we tend to have a much higher quality of life because we aren’t doing everything all by ourselves and pretending it’s a national identity worth celebrating.

One thing about me: I will always need other people. And i am very cool with that. Cause I’m a pack animal interested in alignment and cosmic truths.

Another thing - people are rather amazing. Get out there even when you’re tired - exhausted - too busy - hanging by a vine - heart broken - overwhelmed - et al and get rejuvenated through relationship. For real.

I’ll be back on farm Tuesday and look forward to seeing your emails, orders, appointments, newsletter sign ups and back out in market August 22 @ Hannastown farmers ( event schedule on the website/ I always ship )

Wowee Zowee, Curwensville! You never disappoint this humble herb farmer but yesterday was particularly connective, celebratory, mutually empowering and inspiring !

We had so many incredible conversations, Heather won the pie contest! I met quite a few home herbalists, made new connections, heard great local musicians, ate good food and …..
we had 8 adults and 7 youths for embodied discovery class !!!

If you aren’t already on the newsletter and familiar with my work, GO RIGHT NOW to merakifarmacy.com to receive the always human written and designed newsletter.

I am a mobile classroom, consultation service and have even more to offer you - regardless of where you call home.

I have something more to say, because we are readers and thinkers centering connection, not quick fixes or perceived convenience 😁

Now, I see * a lot * of farmers and makers who primarily measure their success at farmers markets by selling out of their goods and that is the main message in their thank you posts.

Yes: providers of food, care and education must be materially supported by their communities. We all need to make money to pay our rent, for food, medical care, our vehicles that carry a mobile storefront, insurance, phone, computers, and the supplies we can’t make or grow ourselves.

And also

I’ve never gone home empty, as in sold out of what I’ve grown and made, by hand, over many weeks and even seasons (perennials take time), sharing my specialized practice of over ten years.

I go home with inventory.
And I go home with what I consider the greatest measure of success: your trust and our continued relationship:

seeing your children, parents, grandparents. With your stories about your worst days and hardest challenges, about how no one should have to choose between eating real food or putting gas in the car. I go home with your tears, laughter, worries, celebrations - new births, and being in remission. I go home with your experiences, and that is the experience I need to continue to be our county’s only community herbalist: meeting the needs of the folks right here where we are.

It is truly and honor and a privilege to witness you, to serve you, and to be respected and supported in return.

This is what we’ve always done here, and i am immensely grateful for the opportunity to share my best skills and wisdoms with you. This farm and school has no financial backing for all the labors and skills required to protect, advocate for, and serve families. We are truly interdependent, and therefore healing far more than our bodies.

It is always relational. What we do together changes lives and restores disconnection. This is sacred work!

Thank you for consistently supporting your herb farm by raising awareness, making referrals, sharing posts, being on the newsletter, choosing shipping if you can’t get to a market, leaving reviews, buying gift cards, booking my other services.

It’s always people taking care of people.

I’ll be at Brockway’s first Sunday farmers market today from 3-6 if folks want to come meet me and the plants 💚

This weekend has two opportunities to spend time in community with YOUR herb farm, seed to bottle apothecary, and community advocate. This also means I have TWO chances to see you and your family, hear your stories, help connect you with the information - providers - books - etc that you need, and fulfill my mission of supporting healing through kinship and direct experience of what it is to
be seen, loved, respected, care for and celebrated!

Herb Farms are just like any other real Farm - I am growing you organic, fresh, beautiful plants for you to eat, drink, and increase vitality and health. Why are you sourcing herbs from across the world? why are you trying to learn about plants from a screen or an 'influencer"?

We have what we need right here where we are! And I am dang proud to be your only herb farm, seed to bottle apothecary and mobile classroom in the region.

WHAT A RAD CALLING
will you answer?

Millions of people wish they had access to a trusted and respected guide through what Herbalism really is, and how we can sincerely sustain heart felt, empowering, cooperative, healing relationships with Plants, Land, Culture, not as isolated individuals but as integral parts of living, breathing, resilient ecosystems.

I continue to persist, and invite you in!
