Hersh's Custom Calls

Unfortunately we will not be at the MEC this weekend for the outdoor show. I’ll b in Florida cheering on my son and his college baseball team. Here are a couple of birds taken with our calls. Both were shot today, opening day of Michigan season. First bird was called in with a cedar slate trough call. Called right off the roost. Followed his hen right into range. Second bird was called in from over 500 yds away. Used my butternut with yellow heart lid hen box. He and 2 running mates came in and Dale made a great shot on the strutter.

Working on some calls today

Received a couple of pieces of curly Koa from Hawaii today. Can't wait to see how these turn out. May b a few hen boxes in them.

We had a fantastic year in the turkey woods. Between Indiana,Michigan and Wisconsin. We had some great hunts. Got to try out some new calls and new locations.

Today was epic!! Took my son and his friend out for Indiana youth season. Isaac shot his bird this morning at 9 am. And Alec got his this evening at 515. Both birds were called in with a handled hen box I made the other weekend. Was so cool to see it work so well. Love taking these two out in the field.

This is what I've been working in during quarantine times. I think I can kill a bird with one but they're still kinda rough. Really my first box calls that actually sound like a turkey. It's been a lot of fun and frustration. I'll post a video of the sound soon. I'm still learning to tune these things.
