💗 A Little Membership Reminder from Purely Pilates 💗
We wanted to take a moment to clarify our membership and cancellation policies so there is no confusion for our members moving forward.
At Purely Pilates, we truly do our best to know our members by name and make everyone who walks through our doors feel welcomed and valued. However, because we have many members and memberships with different renewal dates, we cannot rely on verbal conversations or memory to keep track of when someone would like their membership to end.
When you sign up for a membership, you are provided with a membership agreement that clearly outlines our renewal, cancellation, no-show, and termination policies. This agreement must be reviewed and signed before beginning to reserve classes.
✨ A few important reminders:
• Auto-renewal is optional. If you choose auto-renewal, your membership will continue renewing so you can continue booking classes without an interruption.
• If you would like to cancel or stop your membership from renewing, we require written notice. This can be through email or a message through the Wodify app. Verbal conversations are difficult for us to track and cannot be guaranteed to be remembered or documented.
• We ask for at least 30 days’ notice for membership termination, as outlined in the agreement.
• There is a termination fee outlined in our agreement; however, we understand that life happens and are often willing to work with our members and waive the fee when appropriate.
• Each membership transaction also generates an email receipt/invoice so members have a record of their monthly payments.
We completely understand that sometimes communication can be missed or there can be a misunderstanding. We are always willing to have a conversation and work toward a solution that is fair to both the member and the studio.
In a recent situation, although the proper written cancellation notice was not received, we chose as a gesture of good faith to refund the most recent membership payment and waive the termination fee. We were able to communicate directly with the member, come to an agreement, and move forward.
At the same time, we do want to be transparent about why these policies are important. When a cancellation is brought to our attention months after multiple membership payments have processed, it becomes extremely difficult for a small business to go back and refund payments from previous months—especially when agreements, invoices, and cancellation procedures are provided to help prevent these situations.
We love our members and want to be as flexible and understanding as possible. Our policies aren’t meant to make things difficult; they’re simply there to create clear expectations, consistency, and fairness for both our members and our studio.
Thank you for understanding, supporting our small business, and allowing us to continue creating a welcoming space for our Pilates community. 🫶🏼
