For years, it stood in the snow, weathered by sun, rain, wind, and time. It was more than a business sign. To the people who passed it, it was a familiar landmark—a quiet reminder that the business was there, waiting for everyone to arrive each morning. When it was first put in place, its purpose was simple: tell people where they were and invite them to the camp life experience. But as the years passed, it became something more. It watched years of ski racing athletes, young and old, come and go. Employees changed, and the camp evolved, but the sign remained. Its faded colors and worn edges became records of the years it had spent outdoors. Every scratch and imperfection seemed to tell a story. It had witnessed busy mornings, quiet afternoons, celebrations, hard times, and countless ordinary days that, looking back, were not so ordinary after all.

There's still enough snow at Timberline Lodge for them to continue having a public terrain park next week, (Session #7: July 12 - 18), so we are now offering up camp next week to Snowboarders and Freeskiers! Yay! It won't have all the bells and whistles of the big Freestyle Training Center (FTC), but it will offer a variety of boxes, rails and jumps and the usual great coaching. Sign up at mthood.com.
