Please Protect Oregon Recreation!

We’re speaking up this week in Salem about an issue that directly affects Mt Hood Skibowl’s ability to operate and keep recreation accessible and affordable.

Current Oregon law has created uncertainty that drives up insurance costs and increases litigation risk for recreation providers across the state.

We support a balanced, common-sense approach to liability waivers, one that recognizes the inherent risks of recreation and reinforces personal accountability when choosing to participate in outdoor activities. Without greater clarity, rising costs and legal uncertainty threaten not just Skibowl but outdoor recreation statewide.

If you care about the future of skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and stewardship programs in Oregon, we encourage you to learn more.

Here it finally comes

KGW Futurecast still calling for a heavy snow week this coming Monday - Friday with snow totals nearing 40" on Mt. Hood. The low end of possibility seems to be 24 inches. Active weather much of the week is likely with snow levels holding mostly below Cascade passes including 1,500' mid-week. The snow as you know is much needed.

Yeah

Yeah

Snow is falling and the mountain is waking up ❄️
We’ve got 3” of fresh snow in the base area, 6” falling in the Upper Bowl, with light flakes still coming down. Just in time to give the hill a fresh blanket of snow and bring back that true winter feel!

Did you know in 1937 the first ropetow was installed at Skibowl by Boyd French? The Historic Mid-Mountain Warming Hut served as the bottom terminal and carried passengers halfway up Upper Bowl. Powered by an automobile engine, the tow was fast and riders held on with custom hooks. If you carried a gallon of gas to the top, you could ski for free!

This photo shows a stunning view of Multorpor Lodge from the top of Cascade
