Incoming: the Weather Outlook for the Upcoming Winter Season 🌨️

Unless you have been living under a rock, you have likely heard the whisperings of a Super El Niño headed our way.

We understand that that fact alone can cause you to shake in your ski boots when considering the upcoming winter. So we are here to give you a bit more background (and hope) for what may lie ahead:

❄️ It is true that El Niños normally aren’t good for the PNW, BUT a Super El Niño can sometimes flip the script and bring MORE snowfall to higher elevation resorts like Meadows.

❄️ While forecasts are calling for a warmer-than-average winter, past Super El Niños have totally delivered the goods (620” in ‘82/83 and 478” in ‘15/16).

❄️ Speaking of the 2015/16 season, Meadows has historically NEVER had a bad season two years in a row. In fact, the data shows that the season following a bad one (like the one we just had) results in much higher snowfall totals.

We understand there may be a bit of PTSD from last year’s less than optimal conditions. But if the numbers are to be believed we may indeed be in for quite a winter 🌨️

Read the full break down of the winter forecast at the link in bio (or go directly to our blog). Now is the time to start preparing - grab your wax, your jackets and your passes.

We CANNOT wait to see y’all on the slopes!

This summer, our team has been busy working on the largest electrical infrastructure project at Meadows since the resort was constructed. ⚡️

This project upgrades the original, direct-buried power lines that serve the north side of the mountain to modern ones that are more protected. This will significantly improve power reliability for the Shooting Star and Hood River Express lifts, as well as the Hood River Meadows Lodge and our Nordic Center.

Watch the video to learn more and see some of our awesome team working on this important project.

We woke up this morning to an awesome surprise at Meadows: the first dusting of snow this season! ❄️🤯

While it's just a little bit of snow that probably won't be sticking around, we are incredibly stoked to see it, especially after the summer Oregon has had.

It's a little reminder that winter is on its way... and to get your 2026-27 Season Pass. 😉
