🏌️♀️A WHOLE LOT OF HEART. & ONE HECK OF A COMEBACK.🏌🏽
Haven’t played Brentwood lately? It’s time to put us back on your scorecard. 😉
Our golf course is looking the best it has in over a decade, and I want to give some very well-deserved credit to the people making that happen—starting with our superintendent, Greg Trenchard, one of the best guys you could ever have in your corner, and our entire grounds crew of absolute rock stars.
When Greg and I took on the challenge of turning Brentwood around back in 2021, we knew we had our work cut out for us. What we didn’t know was just how steep that uphill battle would be. Every time we made headway, something else seemed to need fixing, rebuilding, or figuring out. But we kept showing up. and we still do.
There is a lot of blood, sweat, and tears behind the course you see today. Looking out at it now, knowing what it took to get here, is equal parts humbling and something I’m incredibly proud of. Greg, thank you for sticking with the vision, doing the hard work, and caring so deeply about this place—even on the days it made caring a little harder. ❤️
Every year, we’ve been fortunate to add more dedicated, passionate, hard working people to our grounds crew. People who love this little honey hole as much as I do. People who see a challenge and start figuring out how to tackle it.
That has meant bringing old, used equipment back to life and refusing to give up on an antiquated irrigation system that seemed determined to keep its problems a mystery. Zach and Nolan made figuring it out their personal mission, working through issues that had gone unresolved for far too long. Around here, we’ve patched plenty of leaks—literal and otherwise—and their persistence paid off. This year, we’ve kept those sprinklers flowing, and you can see the difference. 💦
A huge shoutout, too, to Assistant Superintendent Adam Sukey, who brought his landscaping experience, love of golf, and enthusiasm for heavy equipment to the team. From tree removal to the ongoing work on our cart paths, Adam has been helping us make progress you can see and feel as you make your way around the course.
And to everyone else on our crew: thank you for weathering the storms with us, standing beside us, and helping knock down one hurdle after another. Your work matters. It shows. And it deserves to be recognized.
This season has been one for the record books—and we haven’t even accomplished half of what we have planned. I cannot wait to keep supporting and working alongside this crew as we make Brentwood everyone’s favorite little golf course.
