Grafton Youth Basketball

At the end of last month, we wrapped up the season with our 5th Annual Honors & Awards Ceremony. We recognized over 100 kids for their hard work and dedication to the sport they love. None more deserving than our graduating Varsity Seniors, who were presented with their custom basketballs sponsored by the Grafton Recreation and Grafton Travel basketball programs. We also awarded two members of our GYB family the Jim Bergenholtz Award of Excellence, our highest achievement award for dedication and contribution to the programs. This year's community recipient was awarded to a long-time parent, volunteer, and inspirational member of our community, Tedra Averett Jack. Our active member of the program recipient was awarded to our head ref of 20 years, fondly known as Jeff the Ref, to the kids, Jeff Marcimo. Both of these incredible people have given tirelessly of their time, energy, and support to the families of our programs. We want to congratulate all our award winners and remind those who may have missed out this season to keep working and improving their game in the off-season. See you in the Fall. We want to congratulate our travel alumni, LJ, on making history on Monday night against Westboro by becoming the leading scorer in GHS Varsity boys basketball history. He eclipsed the old record held by another rec & travel alumni, Gigi LeMay. He broke the 1100 point mark and still has a few games left this year to add to his total! Congrats and well deserved to him and his coaches!!

Out of an abundance of caution and safety for our families and players we are canceling Rec Basketball games today. Spread the word please. Stay warm and be safe out there today.
