7 Nights of Fright - NIGHT 7: Trick-or-Treat at the Graham Recreation Center

About: Celebrate Halloween with Graham Recreation & Parks at the Graham Recreation Center Trick-or-Treat! Bring the whole family for a fun-filled evening featuring Trick-or-Treating, dancing, and games in the gym, popcorn, and food trucks (cost for food trucks), plus plenty of Halloween fun! Kids and parents are encouraged to dress in their Halloween best, and children who attend in costume will receive a goodie bag while supplies last. Bring the family, show off your favorite costume, and enjoy a safe, festive Halloween celebration at the Recreation Center!

Graham Drill Press

The City of Graham, under the leadership of druggist and mayor Dr. J.C. Simmons, was connected to the power grid in 1902. Walter M. Euliss was the first licensed electrician in Graham. Euliss oversaw the Graham Water and Electric Company, organized in 1905, until he opened his own appliance and electrical service shop in the new W. J. Nicks building in 1916. Euliss was Nicks’ nephew and supervised the construction of the Nicks building, including the wiring. This drill press was used in Euliss’ shop. It may be a Burke drill press, but the exact identification cannot be determined at this time. This may have been a machine lathe rather than a drill press since there is no hole for a drill bit to go through in the circular plate. The press was belt-driven and was run by a small electric motor. This drill press is one of several antique tools in the Graham Historical Museum collection. If you have old tools from Graham and would like to donate them to the Museum, let us know.

The 7 Nights of Fright - NIGHT 3: Pumpkin Carving Contest has brought plenty of Halloween creativity to Downtown Graham with two exciting categories: the Community Pumpkin Carving Contest and the Downtown Business Pumpkin Carving Contest!

Our local community members and downtown businesses have put their carving skills and creativity on display, and now it's YOUR turn to help select the winners!

Check out the entries in both categories and vote for your favorite pumpkin in each contest! From spooky and silly to creative and one-of-a-kind, every pumpkin has a story, and your vote will help decide this year's winners!

Heading to the Downtown Graham Pumpkin Bash this evening or out trick-or-treating tomorrow? Make Alamance Arts one of your stops! Take a look at the pumpkin entries in person and cast your vote for your favorites!

The big day is here! The Downtown Graham Pumpkin Bash is tonight, October 30, 6:00pm - 9:00pm!

Before you head downtown, here are a few important reminders:

• Costumes encouraged! (but not required)
• Take a photo of your child before leaving the house. This allows you to have an updated photo of what the child looks like that evening.
• Stop by the Graham Police Department booth upon arrival to get a safety bracelet for your child.
• Don’t forget your Trick-or-Treat bags! Graham Recreation & Parks will offer FREE Trick-or-Treat bags at the Recreation Info Tent (while supplies last!)
• Refuel downtown: check out local businesses and food trucks
• Family fun only: smoking/vaping, pets, and drones are not allowed.
• Street closures: 100 blocks of East & West Elm Street will close at 3:00pm. North & South Main Street will close at 4:00pm. Streets will reopen at 10:30pm.

Established in 2015, this beloved community tradition is a joint effort between Graham Recreation & Parks, the Graham Police Department, and the Graham Fire Department. Join us in Downtown Graham for an evening packed with inflatables, Trunk-or-Treat, vendors, food trucks, the Pumpkin Smash with Graham Fire, Dancing Witches with Alamance Arts, and more! Costumes are highly encouraged but not required, so put on your favorite costume and join us for a festive night of Halloween fun, treats, and community celebration in Downtown Graham!

NEW FOR 2026! The fright begins before the Downtown Graham Pumpkin Bash! Graham Recreation & Parks kicked off Halloween week with 7 Nights of Fright, a week filled with spooky surprises, festive activities, and Halloween fun as we count down to the big night!

From a movie and pontoon boat rides to pumpkin decorating, a haunted trail, and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the week. Explore each event for details, gather your friends and family, and join us for seven nights of fun leading up to Halloween!
