Greetings, Conspirators.
It is with much regret that I announce the temporary closure of the club.
I'll keep you posted if that should change.

Raven's Edge School of Historical Fencing
Welcome to Raven's Edge School of Historical Fencing! We study Historical European Martial Arts (or HEMA), primarily focusing on German Longsword.
However, we will be branching out to other weapons soon!

Graciously lent to us by Jason at DHFA, here is a simplified diagram to walk you through the Meyer square. As always, please start cuts from the quadrant listed. Enjoy!
Please note: this does not CHANGE the sequence at all, it only makes it easier to follow than the traditional diagram.
Conspirators-
I know it has been a while since you have heard anything concrete from us as far as in-person classes, but I wanted to let you know that we are still planning on re-opening the club when it is safe to do so.
COVID has continued to de-rail our ability to find a new space that is willing to host the club, as the most recent surge has shut many of our possible locations down partially or completely and places are (understandably) reluctant to take on any new gatherings at this time.
There has also been a wave of temporary club closures across the board, as it is difficult to maintain appropriate and safe social distancing measures when our sport is done in such close quarters.
But no fear! We will continue to post videos for solo drilling and various techniques for you to study while you wait, and we WILL be gathering again in the future.
Thanks for hanging in there with us. We'd be nothing without all of you 😁

Asked on the post: can you use this for longsword?
Answer: you could 'theoretically' fence longsword naked. But if you are asking if it is padded up to resist a baseball bat, the answer is no. This is designed for mobility.
Me: looks amazing for rapier! And I'm impressed with the owners 🤔
Conspirators-
Weapon control is PARAMOUNT to your ability to successfully attack and defend. We teach our students that greater strength rarely trumps greater technique. Sure, you CAN bash your way through a "weaker" opponent, sometimes, but once your strength is gone, their superior technique still remains.
