❤️ Heads up, Grand Prairie! 💙 In observance of Labor Day, City of Grand Prairie administrative offices and recreation centers will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.

All recreation centers will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, with normal hours.

Back-to-school season is almost here, and we're helping students start the year prepared. 🎒✏️

Join us for the Annual Back to School Backpack & School Supply Giveaway on Saturday, August 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Tony Shotwell Life Center.

Students will receive pre-packaged clear or mesh backpacks filled with school supplies, and additional vendors will be on site handing out even more school essentials.

📅 Saturday, August 8, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Backpacks and supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.. Limit two backpacks per person.

Today's Parks and Recreation Month highlight is Alexis Phillips, an anchor for the Dalworth Recreation Center. 💚

Since entering the role of Recreation Specialist, Alexis has brought a light to the facility with her bright smile, her radiant energy, and her willingness to go above and beyond the general responsibilities of a Recreation Specialist.

Alexis has stayed late, come in early, driven children to programming during Summer Camp, and so much more!

Alexis is a valued member of our team whose dedication and outstanding service truly embody the mission and values of our department.

She is, without a doubt, one of the shining stars of our organization!

In observance of Independence Day, all Grand Prairie recreation centers will be closed on Friday, July 3.

Recreation centers will reopen with regular hours on Saturday, July 4!

In observance of Juneteenth, all Grand Prairie recreation centers will be closed today, June 19.

Recreation centers will reopen with regular hours on Saturday, June 20.

In observance of Memorial Day, Grand Prairie Recreation Centers will be closed Monday, May 25.

The community is invited to attend the City’s Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial, 925 Conover Dr., as we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
