Grand Rapids Advanced Fencing Academy (GRAFA)

Congratulations to the GRAFA boys for their thrilling performance at the US Fencing Summer National Championship in Portland! Jason Zhao, Lynas Payne, and Thomas Williams made an impressive debut at their first-ever National Championship. Despite coming within a single touch of victory in two direct elimination bouts, the boys showcased exceptional fencing skills, remarkable mental resilience, and strong camaraderie.
A heartfelt thank you to coach Gia Kvaratshelia for his personalized training sessions in preparation for the championship, in collaboration with GRAFA coaches and parents whose unwavering support made it all possible.

Now, after a brief break, they are headed off to the European and Asian training circuits! Boys, enjoy every moment—train hard, learn as much as you can, and forge new friendships.

GRAFA Boys, you're an inspiring example for the next generation of GRAFA fencers, who are eager to participate in the next Summer National Championship.

GRAFA will be closed all next week due to extreme hot weather.
We will resume normal operations on Monday July 6. As always, follow our classes make up policies, to make up for missed practices.
Its a good weather to enjoy the lakes, spend time at the pool of staying inside to escape the heat

Happy Father’s Day to all our Fencing Dad’s! You are a steady support behind your children. You are encouragers, wisdom givers, cheerleaders, drivers, first aid providers, travelers, equipment fixers. The ones that get up before the sun to get your fencers to a tournament for an 8 AM event on time and without stress. The ones that bring your kids to practice every night without fail. All these things and more.

To Coach Arkadiy and Coach Mikhail, you are the teachers and coaches that bring our kids along to achieve their goals whatever they may be, the ones that keep them on track and grounded. The makers of champions! We are grateful for you!
