Grand Rapids Speedway Association Thanks Outgoing Board Members for Years of Dedicated Service

Grand Rapids, MN — The Grand Rapids Speedway would like to formally recognize and thank several longtime board members for their years of dedication, leadership, and commitment to the success of the speedway.

The Speedway extends its sincere appreciation to President Bob Broking, Vice President Dale LaPlant, Treasurer Jodi Broking, Secretary Lori Reigel, Board Member Gary Reigel, Board Member Fred Hoshal and Board Member Caley Emerson, for the countless hours they have volunteered in service to the Grand Rapids Association. Their leadership and stewardship have played a vital role in guiding the facility, supporting racers and fans, and preserving the strong racing tradition in the Grand Rapids community.

“These individuals have given a tremendous amount of time and effort to ensure the continued operation and growth of the Grand Rapids Speedway,” said Speedway representatives. “Their dedication has helped shape where we are today, and their contributions will not be forgotten.”

As the Association looks ahead, a special membership meeting has been scheduled to discuss next steps for the future of the Grand Rapids Speedway.

Grand Rapids Speedway Announces 7:00 PM Start Times for 2026 Season

Grand Rapids, MN — Grand Rapids Speedway has announced a schedule adjustment for the 2026 racing season, with weekly race night start times shifting from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

The change is being implemented to give both fans and drivers additional time to travel to the race track following their normal workday and daily routines.

“We want racing at Grand Rapids Speedway to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone,” said track Competition Director, Jonathan Powers. “Moving the start time to 7:00 PM allows fans and race teams from outside the immediate Grand Rapids area to arrive without feeling rushed, while still delivering a complete and efficient race program.”

Despite the later green flag, Grand Rapids Speedway does not anticipate longer race nights. With a strict 10:00 PM curfew and most events featuring four total classes, officials expect race programs to conclude around the same time — if not earlier — than in previous seasons. Opening Ceremonies will be slated for 6:50 PM, with the first heat race on the track by 7:00 PM.

Track management believes the adjusted start time will improve the overall race night experience while maintaining the fast-paced, fan-friendly shows Grand Rapids Speedway is known for.

WISSOTA Mod 4’s Scheduled for Two Events in 2026

The WISSOTA Mod 4 division will race twice at Grand Rapids Speedway during the 2026 season on July 1 and August 19.

The decision comes after the division averaged 15 cars per event over its last three appearances at the track. With strong competitor support and the backing of Frederick Race Cars, it made the decision to race the class twice this year easier!

Details to be announced later this spring.

We're excited to announce that we have built our 13-race Late Model schedule around WISSOTA's Late Model Challenge Series events for the 2026 season.

By coordinating our dates to avoid scheduling conflicts, drivers can choose to run the full WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series schedule and compete for every Late Model track points night at the Grand Rapids Speedway if they choose.

We look forward to hosting the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series at the Grand Rapids Speedway for the WISSOTA Classic on Friday September 4th.
