Grand River Sailing Club - Ohio

Grand River Sailing Club - Ohio Sailing for leisure and sport. GRSC is located in Grand River, Ohio about 35 miles east of Cleveland in Lake County.

GRSC has approximately 50 members from the myriad of dockage and clubs along the Grand River and nearby marinas and yacht clubs. Since its incorporation in 1981, the club has organized sailboat racing and cruising events. Races are held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Hey sailboat watchers. Saturday morning will be the start of our annual open race/cruise to Geneva State Park. The start is pursuit starts where each boat starts at a specified time. This allows us to all arrive in Geneva about the same time. You can watch the start from the lighthouse hill. Between 9 am and 10 am there will be approximately 20 sailboats.

Also this is an open event, so if you have a boat or know someone who would like to participate, leave us a comment and we can get you on the list.

Please find attached the 2026 GRSC Geneva Race Series Notice of Race (NOR). I will send the sailing instructions (SIs) and start times later next week but most everything you need is in the NOR.

Please pre-register for dockage at Geneva as soon as possible so we are guaranteed dockage for everyone. You don't have to provide credit card information to register and you can cancel your reservation on short notice. You will pay for dockage at the office after you arrive.

Yesterday’s Markko Cup Race took place on a beautiful day, with much more wind than forecasted. It also had one of the most exciting finishes ever, with the lead boats all converging near the finish and switching positions through extremely shifty conditions. Thanks to Markko Vineyards for their sponsorship, and thanks and congratulations to all the participants.
