The Dawgs had a nice 2026 West Michigan Relays meet this weekend. The Bulldogs finished 8th overall in a very competitive field with 240 team points. We saw some great swims and dives in a fun relay meet.

Grandville Top 8 Finishes:

A bit late for the recaps but will catch up this week. Grandville had a strong showing at the 2026 Northview Invitational, finishing second overall.

The Bulldogs earned several victories and top finishes:

🏆 200 Medley Relay champions - Tessa Graverson, Suriaya Moss, Loren VandeKerkhoff and Marley VanderWall (1:53.11)

🏆 Loren VandeKerkhoff - 50 Butterfly champion (27.74) and third in the 50 Freestyle (26.33)

🥈 Marley VanderWall - second in the 100 Freestyle (55.31) earning a state cut and fifth in the 50 Breaststroke (34.23)

🥈 Suriaya Moss - second in the 100 IM (1:03.48) and 50 Breaststroke (32.35)

🥈 Lyza VanPopering - second in the 50 Freestyle (26.13) and sixth in the 50 Butterfly (29.67)

🥈 200 Freestyle Relay - Lyza VanPopering, Charlotte Ernst, Madi Lemmon and Brooklyn Nobert (1:47.27)

🥉 Charlotte Ernst - third in the 100 IM (1:06.66) and fifth in the 50 Backstroke (30.75)

🥉 Tessa Graverson - third in the 50 Backstroke (29.86) and fourth in the 100 Freestyle (57.96)

🥉 Abby Crater - fourth in the 50 Breaststroke (34.02) and sixth in the 100 IM (1:10.02)

Grandville also received strong performances throughout the lineup, including Brooklyn Nobert's seventh-place 100 Freestyle, Madi Lemmon's seventh-place 50 Backstroke and valuable depth from the Bulldogs' relay teams.

On the boards, Eleanor Borgman placed eighth, Alex Belyew ninth and Addison Perez 10th in diving.

A great team effort and an exciting start to the season. Congratulations, Bulldogs.

We could not be more proud of Oliver Ottenwess for earning NISCA All-American honors in not one, but two events!

The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) recognizes the top 100 high school swimmers in the nation in each event, and Oliver earned his place in both the 100 Butterfly (State Champion) and the 200 Freestyle.

This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to Oliver's hard work, dedication, and commitment in and out of the pool.

Congratulations, Oliver! We can't wait to see what's next.

We are so proud of our own, Dave Brinks for bringing home this incredible honor. Words will never be able to say what and how Dave has made the Grandville program better, but we are simply so proud of this guy. Thank you, Dave for all the memories and lives changed through your career as a bulldog.

The NISCA Conference in Grand Rapids was a huge success.

Our own David Brinks was awarded the NISCA Outstanding Service Award.

Congratulations to the Grandville High School Swim & Dive teams on being recognized by MISCA - Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association as Academic All-State Teams for 2026!

To earn this honor, teams must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and commitment these student-athletes demonstrate both in the classroom and in the pool.

🏊‍♀️ Girls Swim & Dive finished 19th in Division 1 with a team GPA of 3.56.
🏊‍♂️ Boys Swim & Dive finished 7th in Division 1 with a team GPA of 3.68.

Not one, not two, but three of our senior swimmers have just been named Grandville's Athletes of the Year honors. Congrats to Lauren, Olly and Ty. These kids have brought so much to this aquatics program, and I simply could not be happier for these kids. Thank you for four great years of leadership, commitment, and grit.

Honestly, this is a moment to say congrats and thank you to all of our Grandville athletes for their incredible careers of representing the dawgs.
