Our regular club meeting happens this week! Yes, tomorrow is indeed the 4th Tuesday of the month.

Our monthly meeting happens tomorrow evening Tuesday, Tuesday, September 22, 7:00 pm at West Walker Sportsman’s Club located at 599 Leonard st NW, Grand Rapids MI.

This month we are pleased to have Charter Captain Nick Dood of Reel Live Action Charters joining us to talk fishing. Nick who fishes multiple techniques and a variety of bodies of water will be focusing on inland bodies of water. Techniques to use on places like Hubbard Lake, Burt Lake, Mullet Lake, Hardy Pond and Muskegon may well come up tomorrow night. Be sure to bring your questions for Nick to respond to.

We will also highlight other club events taking place soon. Results from the Burt Mullet tourney will be presented. It is also time to begin thinking about lakes we would like to fish next year, so please bring your suggestions for the board to consider.

If you are in attendance, you could win one of the door prizes to be given away. You could win a gift certificate and who knows but there may be some items to be drawn for at the meeting.

We hope to see many of you there for the evening’s events.

How do you cook your fish? Walleye? One of my go to ways is the following:

After zippering the fillets
Cut into 2-3” pieces
Lay fillets on dry paper towel
Season on side of fillet with lawrys
Get two grocery bags and double them up
Put dry Drakes batter inside the bags
Put fillets in the bag
Shake to cover fillets completely
Heat oil to 350 degrees
Put fillets in to cook
When floating take fillets out of oil
Put in basket with paper towel and season with Cajun seasoning salt
Serve with Franks red hot and enjoy

Great 13 days fishing Hubbard Lake. Caught some nice walleyes this year just had to work harder for them. Lots of bait in the lake right now. Thanks to everyone who booked trips with me up there this year! Thank you for your generosity and taking the time to experience this great peaceful lake in Northern Michigan. I still will be doing a few more trips this Fall up there if you want to experience this fishery.
