✨Yoga is extremely helpful with hormonal imbalances because of its design. In fact, every time you’re doing a yoga pose, you are working on at least one of the glands in the endocrine system, and usually more than one. Part of the reason is because yoga is designed to work on the chakra system, and when you look at the chakra system next to the endocrine system, they are exactly lined up.~Lynn Jensen

✨Our lymph nodes work to filter and break down viruses and bacteria, providing an important barrier to infections and getting sick. Unlike our circulatory system, our lymphatic system doesn’t have a heart to pump fluid and essential nutrients through the body, so we rely on gentle physical movements to act as a sort of pump for our lymphatic vessels and nodes. Yoga postures are a perfect solution. We can move in ways that direct the flow towards the heart (the natural direction of lymph). – Christy Fisher

✨💯 Regular practice of Yoga is beneficial for your bones because healthy stresses are applied in a variety of unusual directions. This strengthens bones, which remodel in response to stress by depositing layers of calcium into the bone matrix. -Ray Long

✨Synovial joints… are freely movable and need a system that cushions the ends of the bones, allowing them to glide over each other without friction. This system consists of hyaline cartilage, the smooth, whitish covering on the ends of the bones, and the synovial fluid, which fills the space between the cartilage surfaces and facilitates smooth, painless movement between bones. This clear, slightly viscous fluid is also important because it delivers nutrients and oxygen to the hyaline cartilage, which—unlike most body tissues—doesn’t have its own blood supply. Any joint movement helps circulate the synovial fluid, which feeds the cartilage; practicing yoga poses therefore helps keep the cartilage well-nourished.

Augmenting

Ingredients
3 Tbsp ghee

½ tsp cinnamon bark powder

½ tsp fennel powder

Pinch of clove powder

1.5 cups freshly ground rice flour

1.5 cups white wheat or red wheat (grinding the wheat berries yourself really makes a big difference in the taste

Method
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl with your hand. Add ghee and enough water to make a soft moist dough (not sticky).

Make balls of dough about half the size of a golf ball.  Place the dough balls into a steamer. I use an idli steamer, but you could also use a steaming basket.

Steam for 20 minutes in an idli steamer, 5 minutes in a basket steamer.

Serve with honey, maple syrup or a little tahini.
