Grapevine Junior Sailing

Zest Fest 2026 was everything we hoped it would be and more. Families gathered on the shores of Lake Grapevine for an afternoon of racing, BBQ, and community spirit that reminded all of us why we love this club and this program.

Adults went head-to-head with junior sailors, counselors, and GSC leadership on the Zests — and the competition was fierce, the laughter was louder, and the beach was exactly where everyone wanted to be. Challenge coins were earned. Bragging rights were claimed. And a few adults discovered that our junior sailors are not quite as easy to beat as they imagined.

The summer's final Learn to Sail and Race Camp sailors have had a blast and gained confidence while growing their sailing knowledge and skills. From classroom lessons to rigging to on the water drills and races, it has been action-packed so far! What could be better a better way to beat the heat than getting to sail on Lake Grapevine every day?

Have you seen the sailboats with the bright green sails on Lake Grapevine all summer and wondered how you could try one? This Saturday you can at Zestfest, benefiting the Grapevine Junior Sailing program.

This Saturday at 3 PM @ Scott's Landing beach. Bring life jackets, lawn chairs, and a side dish to share. Onshore shade will be provided!

What a fantastic start to Learn to Sail Camp #3 and Race Camp #2! We've had two incredible days out on the water building sailing skills, learning the basics, improving technique, and making great memories along the way. From rigging boats to catching the wind, our sailors are gaining confidence with each day on the lake. It may be hot, but these kids know how to stay cool - lots of water, lots of smiles and lots of fun while learning lifelong skills!⛵️
