Yesterday Grayslake AYSO celebrated its 40th anniversary. 40 years of being a part of the Grayslake community. Several founding players from back then are now parents and coaches of current players. That’s a legacy of community and dedication to our kids that just can’t be lost.
Our founding members came from neighboring AYSOs to form Grayslake - AYSO Region 396…The region we know and love today. 40 years later through ups and downs we are still here woven into the fibers of Grayslake.
Those of us that volunteer know well the responsibility we have of carrying on the work that was started decades ago which gives Grayslake its own quality, affordable, accessible community soccer.
We’ve recently worked to rebuild the program after registration declines. This includes expanding the age ranges with teams ranging from 5 years old to 18 years old, and extending the player path way beyond just recreational play into the realm of competitive youth club soccer with our new Grayslake FC teams.
Just like our organization was there for everyone in the community 40 years ago we are here for everyone to enjoy every level of youth soccer under one Grayslake flag today.
Thank you to the parents and players that founded Grayslake AYSO Region 396 all those years ago. Let’s make the next 40 years even better for our kids with the help of all our volunteers.
