The Great Bend Rec family is saddened by the passing of Don Dreiling, who spent many years making a difference in our programs and in the lives of those around him.
Many will remember Don as the friendly face at the front desk of the Great Bend Rec Activity Center, greeting our exercise crews and basketball kiddos as they came through the doors. Before that, adult softball fans could find him supervising games and cheering on players from the stands.
Whether it was helping with a big community event, lending a hand with the smaller details, or volunteering his time to coach Rec teams, Don was always finding ways to be involved and support our community.
Don was more than an employee. He was part of the Rec family, and the impact he made will be remembered by the many people who had the pleasure of knowing him.
We are grateful for the years Don shared with us and the memories he leaves behind. He will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts are with Don’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him during this difficult time.
